Stage 2 load shedding strikes

Cut off in the morning, cut off again this evening

After the power was restored ? Busy with loadshedding ,so at 8 I will see how quickly it syncs. But yes, got modem on a ups and adsl dies about 15 min into loadshedding. They must have kark batteries in the dslams

Ye power has been on for 1 hr 35 mins and still hasn't synced

Yeah. It sometimes takes 15-20 minutes before mine reconnects.

Been off for quite a while now.

Hmm mine is normally instant.. well modem takes about 2mins to boot.. lets see what happens tonight, 10 minutes to go before they flick the switch

Went off at 16:00, came back at 18:30.

Thanks Eskom

I think its the first time ever that there was supposed to be loadshedding in my area where it actually didn't happen.

Ah yes. Over 18 hours of no power now, as City Power is unable to restore power to my area. Started at 16:00, was supposed to be over by 18:30.

I have endured the agony of travelling from one end of Randburg to the other the past 2 days. Not a single traffic light functioning. The entire region is gridlock from end to end. A trip which normally takes 40 to 60 minutes is extended to 2.5 hours.

The upside is more time to catch up new and views on 702.

The downside is lost productivity, wasted fuel and increased exhaustion.

An observation: not a single intersection (and some of them are really big and hectic) I passed through was their a JMPD (metro police) person directing traffic. The bloody critters were either:

- hiding behind cameras,
- filling up their lard on KFC,
- sleeping off a "hard" day's work, or
- home early to avoid the traffic.

I didn't spot a single JMPD vehicle anywhere along the journey home.

So much for Edna Mamonyane's promise to help alleviate traffic frustration in load shedding.

So as this article says, she is 90% talk and 10% meetings & education.

0% delivery!!!

Wow. And I thought heavy PE traffic turning a 15 min journey into a 40 min one sucked.
