Stage 8 load shedding warning

Patiently waiting for my inverter, batteries and panels which should be delivered this week.

Food for thought: What car can you get for R150k to R250k? Compared to what solar system can you get for same money.

Conclusive proof that the Cape Republic should go independent. We can hand over our power station to some Ex-Eskom engineers that will more than likely do a much better job. And then cut off the rest of South Africa.
Bwahahaha ha same old Stupid shyte.

Which power stations are you going to get? And cut off the rest of south africa!? *pisses myself laughing* you actually have no clue do you?

Stage 4 and stage 8, same whatsapp group...

Look again, the slots are longer in stage 8.

That's how Eskom employees think as well.

They rather get cars and brooms.

The President says he is "hopeful" that Eskom has things under control... 'Hopeful' is very far from assured. That is quite worrying. What happened to that high level war room we heard so much about?
You would think he could do random visits to power stations if he were all that concerned.
Not saying that he possesses the power to fire anyone at Eskom directly but then again he is able to pull a couple of strings In Gov to ensure it happens.

If you can pull strings for all the other corrupt deals why are you pretending you are so helpless now?

Im not a big Cape Independence supporter. But there's as much nonsense written against as for...
Like most unthought through independence plans I see a massive hole here.
The power stations belong to eskom the South African government.

They belong to Eskom, but much like a bonded house they have lots of debt attached to them. There would be a price that they could be valued at. It's not that hard to fathom.

If this cape independence were to happen, do you think government would just hand over any western cape power stations?

Yup. It would rely on that for a peaceful transition. But just remember fixed assets get bought and sold all the time. It's not different to the farming land, or hospitals or harbours or train lines. It would be part of big package of taking over the national debt. This would not be expropriation without compensation.

And with no real power production in the western cape do you think been execulded from the national grid would work out ?
Maybe a bit more than you realised. Lots of wind, hey why not include the Northern Cape too and then we have CSP too. Btw all the renewables aren't even owned by Eskom!

Western cape would still be a net importer of power. Which would be interesting what’s the plan to pay for ?
Yup. It would import power and pay for it, unlike Zimbabwe :). Could also import from Namibia. Or get a big Karpowership... Imagine not having enough power... Oh yeh, we have that anyway!?

What currency would a new cape country use ?
Can’t just keep using the rand with out a currency Union which would give the SA government great power, new currency’s take a lot of time to work out and stabilise.
Could peg to the Rand or just use it. Namibian dollars are just that...lots of surrounding countries take.Rand.

All the things you talk about aren't the huge stumbling blocks you think they are.

The biggest problem of all is migration and visa rights. All the "what about this thing" for stuff as simple as power, food, money... There's market mechanisms for them, there's prices...
The stuff without prices is the hard stuff.
Armies
Laws
Immigration

Stage 2 load shedding to continue every evening this week

Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 17:00 until 22:00 throughout the week, Eskom announced on Sunday.

"While there may be instances where load shedding might need to be implemented outside of these hours, as far as possible Eskom will endeavour to limit the implementation of load shedding to the evening peak in order to limit the impact of the capacity shortages on the public," the utility said.

I am so sick and tired, The demand is ..bla

Now becouse the same, Criminals, yet again!!! As with every thing , looked to get some more R1000 000.00 into the palms , we are having this

If this bull is not fu.... up every intervention, like the power chips , and all these companies, that can with immediate effect, add clean electricity to the grid...

But , no .... it is better for SA to sit in stage 8 , than the elites losing thier money

And of course, anything to stop any investigation......

Are you honestly telling me , that we don't have the experience and knowledge available, to be asked , to move in , to get all the stations sorted , they can even be on loan , and fvs it does not matter what thier calour is

Becouse my fellow South Africans this is snd should be called , a national Desaster

Call it minister , so we can get Private sector everyone, involved

And while you busy their, have a look , at this Diesel contract , that is running into biljoens every month
You will eat ze bugs.

Honestly, the government talks so much k@K and is so fuktup - its unbelievable

Eskom said it would consider the CVs individually and welcome those who have specialist skills to help without compensation.
“Anyone else, whatever race, gender, who has a skill and willing to do the same can approach and will be considered,” Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said at the time.

However, nothing came of this.
Eskom can’t simply accept the offers of 70 skilled pensioners to return to the power utility and work for free, chief executive André de Ruyter has said

“But working without compensation creates a whole range of problems in terms of liability, accountability, and being engaged and subject themselves to discipline as it may be required,” he stated.
But then this .. ( which is worse? )

And of course this little gem cant go unnoticed ....

Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe says Eskom has enough electricity in its reserves and he doesn't understand why the utility is resorting to blackouts. Eskom has announced Stage 2 blackouts until Sunday. #DStv403 #eNCA pic.twitter.com/fzAXCCwjWx

I wonder if any of the ministers have a stake in solar or generators?

Lol. Deep thinker. Around 10 years ago a black dude tried to show me how smart he is. Xhosa. Big tummy. Likes whiskey and Coke. Yea.
I have absolutely no interest in what you get up to in your spare time with big tummied, black Xhosa dudes.

According to Solidarity, Eskom’s recruitment policy, promotion policy, labour equity quotas, and procurement policy made the environment at the power utility impossible for white engineers and artisans to get promotions and excel in their careers.

The trade union said that regardless of race, Eskom desperately needed to keep its skilled engineers and staff to turn the company around.

They begining to see BEE in action :/

Is Stage 8 actually a possibility?

We've never been above Stage 4 for any real length of time.
