I just noticed something on the new Standard Bank internet banking site...

Before, when you did an EFT, the confirmation page showed you which account you had paid the money into; which meant that you could use that page as a proof of payment.

Now, though, it only shows what account it came out of, the beneficiary name, and the amount.

I can't help but wonder (cynically) whether this is to push their "payment confirmation" system, which you have to pay for?

Cunning, aren't they? Try going to "payments & transfers > transaction history. There you'll pick up the printable page of the transaction generated in the same way it always used to be before the site overhaul. You can then PDF and mail it or print it as before.

Ah, cool. That's what I needed, thanks.

I find ABSA's internet banking site much more user friendly than that of Std. Bank.

(This must HOWEVER, in no way be seen as an endorsement of ABSA) :D

@bluenomore ... do you know how to reprint a "proof of payment" on ABSA's R45 a month internet banking website?

I have the proof of payment e-mailed to me. There is also the option to re-send.

Not sure what 'version' of their IB we use, though ...

When CathJ started this thread in July, Standard Bank had disabled the direct link to the 'proof of deposit' page which came up directly after making a transfer so you could view and print it. Sometime since, they have re-enabled this functionality. Maybe they had complaints...

Thanks Grouter works great, why doesn't Standard Bank just make a pdf download available after a payment??? But at least i can get it now thanks.
