Standard Bank systems crash

IT's a computer it can go wonky. once upon a time you had to go to the bank fill out a form only during 9:30 and 3 on weekdays...
A few hours of down time and people think it is the end of the world.

Yeah, Standard Bank are definitely the most unreliable bank out there. These outages are pretty common.

Also a few people in this thread are the contractors working on the systems.

Yes and as such we know the outage had nothing to do with their systems.

Except that Standard Bank promotes using card swipes instead of cash.
And promotes using ATMs instead of branches.
Which, due to the excessive fees of doing otherwise, people comply with.

So when you've done your monthly grocery shop and are stuck at the till because the POS machine working, it's a little different to one's internet banking being down for a few hours.
