Standing Desk recommendation

This is on one day only today:

Don't know anything about the brand but figured I would post it here in case anyone is interested

I'm looking to now upgrade my WFH setup to include a standing desk.

I'm looking at the TekDesk v2.0 specifically.

To the guys that went for the TekDesk, how's it holding up? Any pro's/cons you can call out after some fair use of this desk?

Only one complaint thus far. It handles water fine, but something oily can stain it. For example, coffee cup that was put in an olive oil spill on the kitchen counter.
Otherwise it's still like new.

Cool, thanks for the update.

Which variant did you get? I see it comes in matte white, matte black and natural birch. The white and black is almost R3.5k more expensive on Takealot (+-R12k for the birch vs R15.5k for the white/black). Not sure why it so much more expensive but seems ridiculous to pay that much.

How are the sound levels and speed when moving it up and down? Any complaints/issues?

I also see it has some kind of cable management, I'm presuming it doesn't come with a built-in multiplug of sorts so I'll have to screw one to the bottom of the desk.

How easy/hard did you find cable management? I'll use this setup for my office WFH setup which is a laptop, 2 additional external monitors, keyboard and mouse. and I'm finicky over cable management so hoping it's decent.

If I'm looking at dropping this kind of $$$ on a desk setup I hope it would be something proper that will last years into the future. When/if we go back to the office full time I'll then repurpose this desk as my full-time study/gaming desk, so it'll definitely not go to waste.

I got the natural one. I'm not paying R3.5 more for a colour :D
From 0.75m to 1.22m in about 10s. Same speed going down.
It's not dead quiet, but I would say it's about as loud as my CPU/GPU fan?

The "cable management" is pretty much this with cable ties.

Yup, I used double-sided tape for my multi plug. It does come with a pretty long (3m I think?) kettle cord to power the desk.

My cable management is a bit of a mess. My two PCs are on a shelf behind my desk, with 2 monitors, external DAC, usb hub and a laptop on the desk. The few loose cables hang of the rear of the desk, and if you find some sort of affordable tray you can attach underneath the desk, let me know.

Thanks man. Yeah I'm also not keen on paying an extra R3.5k for a black or white top.

Did you order from Takealot or deskstand.com?

Deskstand.com seems OK, us free shipping in SA and a one-year returns policy, so seems pretty cool.

The cable management will need some work but I'm sure I can figure out some kind of under-desk cable tray thing. Will let you know if I get that far.

Deskstand themselves and delivery was pretty quick iirc.
Remember the 11% discount.

I also got the mat to stand on. It helps a lot.

Ordered the TekDesk v2.0 white frame & birch top and standing mat combo.

Deskstand has a 6th bday promo going on at the moment, so I got 33% discount on my order.

Exciting times

Any wobble from the TekDesk?

Not wobble, no.
It's much more stable than my previous desk, even when extended.

When extended and I bump it, I can see my monitors shake. They are on monitor arms which will amplify any shake.
I have never noticed a problem with stability until I started looking for it.

My TekDesk top also seems to be a bit heat sensitive, so I make sure to use some coasters.

From a human perspective I do notice that standing becomes pretty uncomfortable after a bit, but I reckon your foot shape is going to make a big difference there. I can't stand still while barefoot for too long on my mat, but I do a lot better when wearing proper shoes.
