Star Citizen

The game currently eats CPU for breakfast, I'd honestly recommend an i7. You can get away with a midrange GPU though (from GTX 970, 1060, RX 470/480) as the frames are more more server bound currently.

I doubt very much there is any region based instancing going on. I think it just puts you in the first instance with players and enough available slots, they don't have the resources to run a ton of servers so they're spawned as needed.

I know I'm pessimistic about this game, but why would they do this? To get more funding? If they can't get there with what they have already, then my paranoia just builds :)

EDIT: and it's not a game - it's bit's and pieces of a far from finished game...

Some people would like to be able to try out what's there before shelling out any money. I know I did, I'm now about $80 deep but won't go further until I see significant progress (or I may never spend more, I'm pretty happy with my Avenger).
 
Well I will play from November the first. The last time there was a free fly there were happy go lucky shoot at anything that moves players and steal any ship you see players. Was a real pain in the rear.

To give people the opportunity to try the game out for free and see if they like it. Take it for a test drive with no obligation, if you will.

Of course, at your current level of paranoia, anything they do seems like an attempt to get more funding. Honestly, I suggest you just forget it exists and move on.

Battlefield is actually quite light on most systems if you look at the benchmarks.

To get an idea of how Star Citizen actually runs, try Arena Commander. The Crusader / mini-PU portion is currently limited by CryEngine's limited netcode capability. It was designed to run an FPS game on 8x8 player maps, not a space MMO over millions of km. CIG are in the process of ripping the code out and replacing it with something written from scratch.

I've got the same one. It's very much an entry level stick, but it beats flying with a mouse.
 
I wish they would do the free fly soon. I am really keen to try out the game and decide whether I want to buy it or not.
 
Tried to donwload it for the free fly the whole of last week but it kept hanging :)

Guess I will just have to wait for another...

Check in here for some technical assistance next time. A buddy of mine had some issues getting it to run but I managed to help him sort it. He had a fantastic time this weekend, couldn't stop playing.
