Can only give this a go once I install a new CPU-cooler but I didn't realise it was a crappy MMO, if that's all it is I'm really not interested.

Is there a single-player, offline story mode?

Nope. They figured people wouldn't bother with it anyway, so didn't make one. The only SP element is playing against AI.

Sad, imo. Would have loved a cool Star Wars campaign.

MMO is my generic term for any game whose main focus is multiplayer online play, I count anyone but myself on a map/quest/stage as the "Mass" part of MMO

Fair enough. Do you consider Starcraft 1v1's as 'Mass', too? :p

I think this is one franchises that should have always have a campaign. SW was theoretically always about the story.

I do feel that the general 'feedback' EA/DICE have received over their Battlefield franchise's singleplayer has influenced Battlefront not getting anything.

On the game itself, I really enjoy the matches. I do still harbour some lingering doubt about repetition, but the graphics..... it's just..... so beautiful :p

So, we have a FPS with no campaign, and the nearest multiplayer server somewhere in Europe?
And we are supposed to pay 5-6 hundred bucks to act shooting gallery targets at roundabouts 200ms ping, or am I missing something?

Oh ffs, deleting...

Nah, that's stretching even my warped definition a bit far;) Still won't play it tho!

There are local servers. I was showing 70 to 90 ping.

I never play any campaign, so I'm glad they went this route.

I gate it a quick test, wasn't blown away by it. I was previously playing Bf4, then went straight into SW. The feel was very different, which may be a good thing but it threw me off initially.

I'll probably still buy it though.

What is there to fly?

I ordered the PS4 version because I am tired of the PC release bugs we have with each BF release. But my Thrustmaster is PC only so I'm considering cancelling and ordering the PC version.

Seems like the Tie Fighter and Interceptor, X-wing and A-wing.
I imagine this will be expanded come full release.

Millennium Falcon and Slave are Hero ships, also will be speeder bikes as well. Would have been nice if we could fly the y-wing instead of it being a call in support item.

I still feel that a SW game should have a campaign, but would be interested to see how many forgo the singleplayer experience, and hop straight into multiplayer.

Don't think I've ever bothered with single player other than practicing.

I've cancelled my PS4 order and will rather get the PC version so I can use:

I still fly crap but at least I can fly without crashing immediately

I'm on console, and the console releases have even worse bugs at times. And it takes longer for them to patch as well because they need to roll out via Sony/Microsoft etc. Pain in the ass.

Due to the flight mechanics a controller will work better than a HOTAS setup.
