Star Wars: The Old Republic!

Moseelbay / Garden Route

Does anyone down here have the game files? I'd hate to have to wait for the download.

Hey peeps

Right we have all had time to play star wars for a bit, how is everybody finding the game?

Personally I am bored to death of it lol i don't know what it is, its not a bad game it just feels like more of the same or maybe I am totally burnt out on mmo's. I got a level 27 sith inquisitor and a 18 jedi warrior. I just cant seem to get my self to play any further

I am personally loving it. Basicly kotor with the ability to play with mates and guildies. Awesome. Story is brilliant as well.

I've been reading alot about bad FPS anyone here getting that problem?

This is how I feel.

I have a level 40 Jedi Sage but I'm currently toying around with my Sith Sorcerer. I love both stories, not sure which one I really want to stick to. But the journey is fantastic :3

Nope. I get a stable 40-60 FPS with settings maxed.

Occasionally dropping to 20 in certain heavy-duty areas but that's not really so noticeable to me.

What graphics card do you run?

This crap is gonna take forever to download -_-

No idea what 216SP means ;) its a single threaded system thou cant see how it will balance nicely on multicore processors.

I can see myself playing many other toons just to get their story lines after I have leveled my sith sorcerer.

That means it's not the one with the lesser number of cores.

No issues for me concerning fps. Mostly 102 with the occasional battle causing it to drop to 36 fps, this is on high.

Have had the odd issues with latency the last week being unstable, was 100% stable at 250ms before that. Still playable but not as great as it was, so hopefully mweb, ect fixes that.

Please voice this in the thread, I've already asked that my traffic be analyzed and see if it's on the shaper's list of exclusion.

And download speed from this patcher? it would be that im at work and my line is congested as hell. But its not going over 9Kb/s at all.

Well, when I was still downloading the client more than a week ago, I got 35kbps on a 384 line, which is what to be expected. Possibly your line is congested or shaped. I recently got some horrid fps, but then I realized it was my graphics card running very hot, it's fan was set to manual, and never spun faster to keep it cool. My mistake. Now the gameplay is smooth, even on max.

I also used to have random lag spikes, using my USB 3G dongle, aswell as my cellphone. I would be playing fine between 260ms to 350ms, and suddenly it would go to 800ms, 1500ms, then 5000ms, then suddenly after a few secs, its back to the usual 280ms. Frustrating as I was on a heroic the other day, and I got kicked from the group as I took to long to "re-connect". :(

Well my gf plays wow daily and the lag is around 196ms-200ms without any lowerping type devices, we actually got higher latency with that.

I took the plunge and bought a Radeon HD 6770 after enduring sub 5 fps.

fps never goes below 45 with all settings maxed. And with latency of 45ms its a joy :D

I will play for the duration of the initial 28 day period and see how the games goes before I take up the subscription again.

Check this link out.

if your graphics card is below the ATI X1800/Nvidia 7800, then the cause of your fps problems is due to below spec graphics cards.

I noticed there are 2 fps reading(ctrl-shift F)

One is high, the other is lower. What is the difference ? surely fps is fps ??
