StarCraft II to support 'Pseudo-LAN' functionality

LOL. That petition is sad.

It's been up for months now and there's only 123k people signed. 70% of those, will probably buy SC2 anyways.

Starcraft has sold well over 10mil copies. So in fact: 1.23% of potential players, have signed that petition.

To put it into perspective; Wrath of the Lich King sold 2.8mil units within the first 24hours. I'd expect for SC2 to get close to that.

I dont think so.. all the things that made the original SC cool.. will not be in the new version. It might be a cool game, but I dont expect it to get anywhere near what WoTCK did in the first 24 hours. It will be interesting either way.

Since Blizzard are making Battle.Net the new Steam, they should just do what Steam does: Create an "offline" mode.

With Steam you only need to connect online, then you can go into offline for a certain period of time after which you need to go online to authenticate again.

Maintaining a connection with Battle.net, I don't know if it's once or periodically, but then also having a peer-to-peer connection between players to facilitate a very low-ping, high-bandwidth connection ... those are the things that we're working on

I watched the Bnet2 Panel from Blizzcon and they are doing lots of great stuff to Bnet2. Besides the usual achievements and whatnot, you'll be able to chat to your WoW buddies while playing SC2 or any other Bnet game. You can also 'group' up with people and then play whatever games together without all the hassle.

Seems pretty neat TBH.

+1 including a local server. It took ages to get the IS local steam content server.

They refuse to look at places like SA where internet is really little less than a copper wire machine atm.

They don't respect the buyer I dont respect the company. I will get a pirated version of this and I will get the "LAN-crack".

I would have been happy to pay R500 for a copy but jumping through all these hoops after paying R500 for a copy VS free copy and no hoops.....

Wow how "noble" of you to "teach Blizzard a lesson". Why not just buy the game and "LAN-crack" it ... oh wait - you never intended to buy the game regardless of "LAN/No-LAN/DRM/No-DRM" etc etc.

If you're really "pissed" at Blizzard, why not just avoid the game entirely?

People like you make me sick.

All that is already in Steam.

All Blizzard needed to say during their press conference is "we are creating our own version of steam!". Guess it doesn't sound as good when you cut out all the marketing BS!

People like you need to learn how to read. I have all the original CDs from Diablo 1 (+ Hellfire), D2 (+ Expansion), Starcraft + Broodwars. Also all other games I have (barring one) have been bought.

Retards like you make me sick. Back to pre school were you should have been taught to read.

I don't really agree with you... BUT the last game I bought was Demigod. As you all know I was one of the few that paid money for it, for that exact reason I could not play with every one else who had the cracked version. Demigod is useless without people to play with and so it was a huge fail !

Next time i'm going to get the cracked version first... then buy the game IF its worth it.

Well if they making a peering option for better local connectivity, it will still be better than a battlenet connection. Although it still requires ADSL, u cannot play offline in a lan environment. If multiple ppl exist on a lan with internet connectivity, will it loop back on itself, or just use the local connection.

Vague solution at best...

1) Nowhere have you even mentioned that you've had all the classics, but this does not entitle you to pirate SC2.
2) I've read that part 10 times now and unless I've read it wrong, you said:

I don't know how else I could have misread this... Please explain word for word or maybe even draw me a picture, since I'm not 1337 enough to understand your language?
3) If you're planning on writing posts to insult people's reading ability, at least get the spelling, punctuation and grammar correct.

It seems that you, on the other hand, did fail in preschool.

Well, thanks for making me laugh.

I just had a quick look at metacritic and noticed that Demigod scored 76%. I am very cautious of any title below 80%. Yes, there are some good titles out there below that and that reviews are not always what they seem, but I rather wait for other opinions than waste my money.

Look, don't get me wrong; If you have the self discipline to 'test' a game and buy it afterward, I'll respect your choices. I've heard this many times from people and they never buy it. (not saying you won't, just elaborating my views)

I also fully understand that one cannot re-sell games and you have to be very careful what you buy (especially if it comes from EA). I've also made some bum choices in the past, primarily because of hype etc, but I suppose one learns that way.

Though, (in my opinion) Blizzard's games have never disappointed and I will buy SC2 the minute it hits the shelves.

Blizzard is the epic suck.I just don't like them.Starcraft 2 looks horrible for one.Yet it will get rave reviews because its a blizzard game.If it plays aswell as the 1st one I might be tempted to pick up a copy.
