Starting out with Sonoff

did anyone manage to get it right with the CH340G from make?
have everything connected but nothing is being picked up
should the vcc be connected at all?

i can't seem to get that split ground right, funny enough tesomotizer finds it on port 6 only without the split, with ground io0 disconnected

I suspect you have something incorrectly connected. Vcc is important, otherwise the esp won’t get power to boot up. And just make sure you are set to 3v3 vcc

thanks just figured it out :-)

now after setting it to connect to the wifi and rebooting i cant find it on the dhcp lease and the "tasmota" open wifi network is gone....do i need to reflash?
 
Yeah, you need to make 100% sure you set the WiFi credentials properly after you tasmotized. You should still be able to change credentials with gpio0 disconnecte, but the usb still attached to esp.
 
update: managed to flash the sonoff bridge, added all my sonoff devices and most of my aqara devices(will do the lights tomorrow).

stuck on the aqara cube, its not being detected even though suppose to be supported
 
Ok so I finally moved into my house and have had some time to get things up and running.

I ended up with:
18x Sonoff TX's Black
2x Sonoff Basics
2x Sonoff POWR2's
2x Sonoff Mini's
1x Sonoff Zigbee Bridge
2x Sonoff Zigbee Switches
3x Sonoff DW2 -WIFI's

I am using the hybrid model with cloud and HA.

thats a nice set up. How is it working for you ? have you found any issues with it ? my house is small so only have 2 Smart relays running through it one being a Sonoff and the other 2 Shelly . the Shelly is has a great App .

So the smart scene's on the online app are a problem - I need to get these done locally. At the moment if I lose internet I lose my 2/3/4 way switching. Otherwise it's actually working really well even with cloud delay etc.

For those who are considering these switches - note you can see the oil really easily from people touch the lights on and off.

That is the main reason I invested into a Raspberry Pi + Home Assistant.
AlexIT Sonoff plug in has a tad of a learning curve but once its set it just works without internet and with the bonus of having no delay.

You will thank me later ;)

And when done right you can manage from anyware:

Yea so I got HA running on my NAS and it work's I just haven't looked into doing the 2/3/4 way switching with it yet.

Also my DW2-WIFI's can't work in LAN mode unfortunately.

That I also picket up , you can run mixed mode for those but I gifted em to a friend and got Xiaomi Zigbee ones that do work offline. Only problem is my bridge dont work on TP Link WiFi. Still wanna buy a USB bridge that plug in directly to the Pi.

I really don't want to use a Zigbee bridge, was hoping to use my WIFI

Then use Mixed mode, knowing that when internet dies so does the door sensors but all else will still work.

I would say go Zigbee instead as they last longer... dont have to swap batteries every couple of months but hey we all love choices :D

Edit: also with Zigbee motion sensors you can ignore the 4 way switching an just let the lights go on when you enter a room...

1st - I need to chat to you about dash-boarding - I don't seem to be coming right with mine.
2nd - And when you sleep does it turn the lights on automatically? :ROFL:
3rd - Can I use different Zigbee devices with my Sonoff bridge?

1: Shoot.
2: You can set an automation to do whatever you want based on time of day or sun up/down states.
3: Mileage vary some work some don't (Me looking at Phillips Hue) I just bought the Xiaomi Sensor set that covers everything I needed.

Hass.io forums are full of people complaining about some bridges not working well outside their ecosystems. The Dresden Conbee II seems to be the best all-rounder. Haven't got one yet but most people swear by it.

1. I got this POWR2 on my multiplug for my desk:

This graph sucks - there is no average and it only seems to show 24 hours.
Same issue here from my Broadlinks:

How do I get one similar but tons of switches that are almost like icons, not sure if you understand what I mean.
Keep in mind I have 18 of these things with most being 3 gang switches.

I guess my biggest thing that I am trying to do is get a lot more history like at least 30 days worth and averages for the day.

2. So you can say the motion sensors don't activate lights passed 10PM for example?

3. I'll give it a google and see what people say.

For graphs with more than 24 hour data, add influxdb to HA and then use Grafana to view the data.

You can control the light activation based on anything in the automations, just need to code it in.

1 For graphs install Mini-graph-card for more options that what the default provides... for example I like a 2 day norm on mine:

if you cant "hack" to your liking then I would go the Grafana route as Tinuva suggest above, personally I dont need that much control/power and happy with mini card.

For the Icons you can use a combination of Horizonal cards to get the look you want?

2: Yes you totally can you,like I said automation in Hass.io can go from super simple to the insane. Also note it does support Node-Red as well. You can Google some examples on that to see what some people pull off.

Edit: In Mini graph I just changed the hours to 168 for a week and refreshed to get this
