It's a distraction tactic to keeping the Zuma year looters from accounting for their destruction of the country and stealing everything that wasn't nailed down. Heck they even stole some of the **** nailed down.
Besides which the likes of Niehaus benefitted handsomely from out of it getting handed various freebies and access to tenders in government and SOEs.

Also what kind of state capture did the Ruperts and Oppenheimers perpetuate. Did they sell their own countries to a bunch of immigrants for a bit of change on the side? If you want to deal with the evils of colonialism do so but at a different platform not this one. These guys just don't want their benefactor to account for his stealing and treason.

I really like Thuli Madonsela, but I see she is also now a strong advocate for granting amnesty to the corrupt. Amnesty won’t change corruption, we need to eliminate the enables and what guarantee is there to stop those who have been granted with amnesty to suspend or stop their criminal activities?
In my view, this won’t be the resolve, neither the clean slate, it will merely state that the corrupt will go unpunished.
The day Zuma is granted with Amnesty, his faction will party like the days of the Guptas. Not to mention that the Guptas will be quick to demand amnesty and be back here in no time.
