Steers Introduces The Mega Ribster

Did you make the vid sand_man? Please mount the camera on a stand next time :) Thanks for the effort though :)

I tried for a second time to buy this burger and it was sold out again!!! :( First at Kenilworth Centre and tonight at Cavendish Square!

Try Rosmead Square.

Try Rosmead Square.
Will do, thanks! The irritating thing is every time they are out of stock they don't say that , they say "it's no more" or something to that effect . Then I have to clarify is it out of stock or is the promotion over

Also had one yesterday - better than expected and very filling!

I saw a box of 8 "pre cooked" escort pork rib burgers at the supermarket. I figure if I buy some of Woolies premium Sesame buns and some lettuce, tomatoe and some sort of sauce and flame grill these mystery rib burgers on the gas grill plate I'll get a Steers like product without the Steers price tag. Serve with hand cut fries and the kid's din dins is looking all good for tomorrow.
Yay real pork. No macon.

What does Macon have to do with the MegaRibster? The non-halal steers use pork ribs and the halal steers use beef ribs.

I get the impression the majority of Steers in the Western Cape are halaal. Though it could just be the areas I am in when I pop in to Steers :(

edit: Though no idea what area Hosehead is in :p

Are they ribs or mechanically deboned and reclaimed meat aka Pink slime moulded into ribs

Yeah like anyone would like to pick the bones out of their hamburger manually...

It's a good burger, trust me I had the halaal one and it was great.

Just had my first one, it was awesome :D. Helps that I was hungry and only eating dinner at 11pm. Well, my 2nd dinner that is :p. First one was at 5pm, a couple of slices of pizza, a banana and a jungle oats bar later on.

You're missing Hosehead's point about the pink slime, but agreed, it's a good burger, good value and I will be buying these until the promo ends.

Apparently the stock shortage is an issue that head office is trying to rectify. I went to the Rosmead Avenue branch and they said if I had come in the week, they would not have had stock either.

Had one for supper again tonight - think it's like my 4th one since the promotion started.

I've had the beef rib and pork rib. And they both have winning elements to them.
Pork - salty and yum.
Beef, smokey and flavourful.

It's a Winning burger for sure :D

The Total Garage on Koeberg Road is non-halaal (for anyone passing by there :p )

Am i weird if i ask them to hold the sauce? I have been forgetting lately but I find the sauces drown out the more "natural" flavours of the food concerned. Also I got used to eating really plain food over the last year and a bit so I can tolerate and even prefer more "plain" food at restaurants and take aways.
