Think they still have a special for 1kg ribs @ R125 or something.

I placed an order at Steers Cape Town International airport today. At least 5 people behind the counter all bored. They acted like they were doing me a favour taking my order.

Damn. I’m craving one of those veggie burgers and chips now, with those unique tasting salt packets, that will probably kill me today. I see it’s R70 now. Last time was over 20 years ago I think. Will be visiting in September.

It's not just Steer's but also Uber. There's almost an R50 difference from ordering through Uber and direct on Steers website. If anything, there should be more concern on how Uber eats are ripping people off more than the restaurant it's self

I went to a Spur two years ago and was pretty shocked by both the service and quality.(And it’s not like my expectations were high)

My SO dragged me kicking and screaming into the Spur (Vredenburg) and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. My hatred comes from the Canal Walk Spur, what a disgrace that place is.Probably.
(And it’s not like my expectations were high)
Yeah, probably very owner/manager specific. I also found the decor to be more garish though - I only realized the last time that the lights were all glass teepees!

Yep, they are firmly stuck in the 80's.
love spur as a all rounder, get a semi decent plain steak or schnitzel at not an outrageous price, typically good service and can be in and out. Pensioners deals are great if treating the parents/grandparents who like a bargain. steaks will be better at a specialty place i know but the prices you pay these days dampens it a bit and then getting kicked R60 for a side of mediocre chips. Would rather buy and cook at home than spend R400+ a head at a fancy place.
