So ..... Went past Steers and got the 180g rib and chips ..... but the ribs looked a bit low on weight

So ....... I decided to weigh them ....

steers rip off.PNG

103g vs 180g advertised.

Have mailed them in a bitchy tone and added a post to their FB page ..... will keep you informed

It was 180g when raw. If a restaurant advertises a meat weight it is the weight before cooking so it seems you are in the wrong here.

Fair enough but they're advertising the thing they're selling you - not what it was before your purchased it.

First mistake was ordering ribs from steers, man I had them once and regretted it as soon as I had a bite.

40% difference seems a bit excessive. ... considering they are ribs.

And of couse .... they were not advertised as 180g uncooked .... I didn't buy them online but at the store

Unfortunately they are advertised that way....

They all have a little star next to the weight, and tiny little writing at the bottom of the menu states Uncooked Weight.

Shouldn't lose more than 20% of the raw weight once cooked. 12%-15% is normal!

Those are definitely below spec. One would expect at least 150g.

Mykonos Taverna, Sea Point, Dimitri, pork ribs... done and dusted

perhaps grantZA can confirm?
