Steers vs Burger King

Warning thread necro :p

I just had a Dodge City Diner v12 240g beef burger. Never again, it was pretty gross :sick:. Next time it's a King Steers or Burger King XXL instead!!

I wonder when Burger King will come to PE. Rather curious as to how they compare to overseas.

The pattie is better and presentation overall is superior. However the shakes are very artificial in every way.
 
The quality has vastly improved since they opened their first store in CT. I was a a bit disappointed with the first Whopper I had, but two years later I'd say it's easily on par with Steers. Steers seem to be doing a Debonairs lately, the burgers are covered in ungodly amounts of artificial tasting BBQ sauce.
 
Once you go Burger King, you don't go back easily ... if there's one around, that is. The one in Cavendish is great, if there aren't massive queues inside.

Steers ... not so much. Awful packaging (paper wrap, really???), flattened burgers look *nothing* like the misleading photos (really worst example of that in SA - much worse than KFC, Spur, McDonalds), and overall the ingredients taste unhealthy (like that green goop that's meant to be avocado).
 
This is the best way I can sum up BK vs. Steers.

BK: Simple ingredients & setup - very tasty. very wide burgers - thick patties. Filling. Not expensive.
Steers: Gimmicky Ingredients, but can be good. loads of sauce. very small burger diameter. Thin patties. not filling. a lot more expensive.

Not bad, but in my experience Steers burgers actually turn out like this:

Actually ... you were a bit generous with the beef there. Picture more bun painted over the sides :P

True that. I guess I was just biased/brainwashed with their advertising pictures. Steers burgers are small.
I think what I was trying to illustrate is that BK = fat and wide, Steers is small and "top heavy" you could say.

BK is the only place where the burger actually looks like their advertising.

Don't burn me at the stake, but I've noticed that McDonalds burgers are starting to look (and feel) really good. There's no getting around the heft of one of those double-quarter-pounder 'deluxe' burgers!

Just go for an 'interesting' one, with some real tomato and gherkins for contrast. Ironically the Big Mac is a bit of a waste - I really used to enjoy the Big Tasty (with that white cheddar cheese slice), before McDs discontinued it.
