Nothing special about it.

Sound is excessively loud.
The aircons either don't work or they send you to Antarctica.
They have those pathetic 3D thing which blurs everything.
The food is stupidly priced.
People talk.
The seats smell like piss.


Which part is the enjoyable part?

Wow where are you going? Sounds like some dodgy porn cinema from the 90s.
The cinema at Northgate which is a 3rd party has comfortable chairs, generally the food isn't too badly priced either yeah I understand that it needs to make up for the movie price.
 
I didn't know that there were any drive-ins still operating in SA (even before C19 struck).
 
Far as I can see its been a pretty devastating year for all forms of entertainment. Even if the theatres open what will they screen ? The blockbusters have all been postponed last I heard Tom Cruise lost his cool on the set of MI-7 due to Covid protocols being broken and costing them valuable time.

The big one was the Avatar movies which were being produced in New Zealand, have all been put on hold to 2022, 2024, 2026 and 2028.
Streaming is here to stay until the pandemic is over.

True... Musica could've owned the streaming market in South Africa, but the powers that be sat on their hands. Now look. It won't be long until the same happens to the cinemas.

It would be sad, because I'm quite fond of the odd blockbuster on the IMAX screen & sound combination.
