I'd say that the tech world is better off for having him in it, and for that I respect the man. Condolences to his family.

is the guy being remembered for making alot of money or did he do something to actually benefit society?

reason being that you still need to buy an overpriced apple product to appreciate what he did?

Wow people making comments without even realising. Why do you think Android looks like/similar to iPhone instead of a Blackberry? Why do you think people refer to any MP3 player as an iPod?

I'll give him credit where it's due. Apple products were previously seen as niche. Under him, they became mainstream. There's a reason why they're among the most valuable companies in the world.

I've no doubt Mother Theresa would have made it to the IT hall of fame if she'd been responsible for the Mac, iPod, iPhone, iTunes. This isn't about making him a saint, it's a pretty obvious part of life - you make a successful product and a success in the business world, people pay attention to you, like it or not.

Why am I explaining this?
