Hi folks

It looks like most members feel that the stickers must be bigger and easier to read. In a previous discussion many members indicated that they would prefer not to stick a bumper sticker on their brand new Z4… We will investigate other options (like the ‘Baby-on-Board’ sucker type temporary sign for the back window) and get back to you soon.

If anybody has good ideas on other options please let us know. It must be relatively cost effective since they will be made available free of charge to all members (while stocks last :D). It does not need to be vehicle related...anything small and promotional.

Regards,

RPM

How about a MyADSL stress ball or something? Or would that be too expensive? I've got a stress "ball" that looks like a computer at home, with the name of the company on the screen, maybe something like that? When produced en-masse it might not be too expensive. Anyway, just an idea.

I wanna mouse pad, big one for gaming ;)

How about Coffee Mugs? I think these have high visibility amongst co-workers(helps spread the message).

I like the idea of having a sucker type board you can stick to your back window inside. I think that will draw more attention than a sticker.

Whatever you do, it must be a "one size fits all" option to keep costs down.
If people don't want to stick it to the back of thier cars, then they must make thier own plan to affix the sticker how they see fit - so long as it's a generic size, I'm sure people can get inventive with it. Heck, you can slide it into a plastic sheath with a sticker sucker thing on it and plak that on the back window.

If you get over complicated, costs just spiral out of control.

Making the artwork available as a download will also give people the opportunity to do what they want.

Good quality extra-sticky stickers would be the best bet - the kind that it's hard to peel of things. Standard rectangle shape.

Now, I'm not saying that people should stick these to phone boxes or such the like - most definately not !
But should one accidentally find it's way onto a lampost, or a bus stop - oops ! - must've slipped out me pocket guvner and blown into place on a gust of wind ! :D

o/t: if anyone knows fish hoek in/around cape town - saw that somone has had a wiole lot of stickers printed up and stuck them all over stop signs and street names

"fish hoek is full of fcukers"

hmmm - not good that.

I think possibly a disclaimer in small print could go on the stickers, not sure of the legalities ?

"MyADSL holds no responsibility for the usage and placement of this sticker"

Just in case ?

It's all very well having an anonymous message, but the message on the sticker points directly to this website and thus rpm - the last thing we would want is for rpm to get in trouble for "vandalism" if someone stuck these stickers in publically visible places.

If a disclaimer that is water tight is on the sticker, indemnifying myadsl from any prosecution due to the unlawful use of said sticker, then there's no problem.

i don't think that will be necessary (or desirable) - there is nothing controversial on the sticker and it is, as always, individual choice beyond the control or foresight of the forum as to where to stick it :)

next time i shave my head i intend slapping one on the back of it - will go well my threadkiller boxer shorts when appearing in court

(like the ‘Baby-on-Board’ sucker type temporary sign for the back window)

Would just love this for the car. Please let me know and how much it's going to cost. I'd pay for it!

Ok rpm,

got a little bit of info for you that should help :

You can get the stickers done on a roll, or on flat sheets.
A roll is cheaper, but then you need to find out about cutting - maybe it would be easier to go on flat sheets. For a roll, your also looking at a minimum amount of around 3000.

It's best to phone the printers and ask them for the die sizes that they have and work to thier sizes. Obviously you'll be phoning around for quotes.

There shouldn't be any difference in cost between rectangle and circle - once again, ask what thier default die sizes are.

You then need to choose between Matt, Semi Gloss and Gloss paper stock.

The number of colours don't make that much difference to cost.

This is all just quick info from quizzing my print contact connection.

If you want me to give you some company numbers to contact in the Joburg area, just fire away and I'll PM you the details.

PMSL, a contemptuous image that no judge/magistrate/clerk/lawyer/advocate/criminal could every forget...:D

I tend to agree with bb_matt's disclaimer idea though, it can be fineprint that you'd only be able to read up close...

bb_matt, thanks for the legwork there, I'm sure RPM appreciates the help. Just wondering if there's advice available about the stickiness of the stickers? - If they are to be stuck to the inside of a car's rear window, then the printed surface needs to be sticky - unless we look at other ways of attachment...

bb_matt could you pls ask him how much 3000 Matt A5 stickers on a flat sheet would be with the 3 shade hellkom logo? Any idea how strong the glue is?

As long as the wording on the sticker is simple and hard hitting ... I'd want somebody to get out of their car, come up to my window and ask me about it.

My thoughts: Maybe watch out for the size and placing of the sticker. If it's placed on a back window, the traffic guys could fine you, or force you to take it off as it can be seen to "obstruct the driver's view" (remeber who we are really up against and the long reaching arm and all that). Another alternative (although it could be costly, maybe a sponsor of some sorts could help) is for license disc holders. Given to all major Traffic departments to hand out when you renew your car license. That way it can't be seen as anything else than it's intended purpose, and it'll be seen by quite a lot of people.

Just an idea ;)

Dropping them off at Traffic Departments is a fantastic idea. I've just renewed my car licence last week and I was one of those that picked up a licence sticker at the counter ... if the round sticker does go ahead, I'll find out about placing them at my local traffic dept.

You need to get quotes done for that - print companies quote on a per job basis for the most part.

If I get time this afternoon I'll see if I can someone to quote - can take a few days to get a result back, that's the only problem.

My connection is a print broker - so he gets quotes from different sources on a per job basisi.

seems like everyone wants something different aargh... just give me a nice clear sticker for myadsl and another with the Hellkom logo on and my boot will look TERRIFIC!!!! Besides i swear it puts hijackers off too... added bonus ja...

WretchedToad :D

Wait for sentech to find your car in the traffic from sattelite 6546, and then turn off your breaks when you least expect it. I hear teklom is offering 200 000 per vehicle attacked, but this is all bull.
