This citizen's initiative is coming to a close.
For those who are European, do take the initiative under consideration. Even where the signatures reach target, the more signatures there are, the more valid, or rather urgent, the initiative is.
The UK petition has already reached 100k signatures, but more would be welcome.

The above does not mean that games are 'saved' against being 'deleted', but it does open the debate. It also encourages lawmakers, publishers, and developers to take this into consideration. Stepping stones.

The citizens here should also actively speak up against destroying video games. Sadly, we don't have democratically driven citizen initiatives and petition programs unless you are politically connected.

Petition: Prohibit publishers irrevocably disabling video games they have already sold
The government should update consumer law to prohibit publishers from disabling video games (and related game assets / features) they have already sold without recourse for customers to retain or repair them. We seek this as a statutory consumer right.
