Man there is always a catch. Using semantics to confuse and sell product. Shocking to say the least. Maybe it is just that staff/reps understand the lingo much better than the average Joe on the street. Or maybe the statements in the advertisements, "In and Out of bundle rates 15c per a megabyte", are purposefully designed to make one think, "Wow, what an awesome deal, lets get a Galaxy S4, it is finally in reach for ordinary South Africans." And then a month later......bang, enjoy your 99c per a megabyte, and sorry...it was in the fine print, oh....did the cell c rep in store not explain this to you?....Oh, sorry, but you have to pay...it is clearly stated.
Well, I think you guys and gals at Cell C are very clever and have an excellent legal strategist. Oh and, sorry to the poor South Africans who actually believed the 15c per a megabyte hogwash. Best thing is, that is just the tip of the ice berg. While you guys have good network speed, average service, I do not think it is fair to the people of South Africa that your adverts stated 15 cents per a megabyte in and out of bundle. I mean, seriously, I know folks who pushed their budgets to the limit, just to afford some of those deals, and then they find the rate is actually 99c per a megabyte, that is R1,00 to the average dude on the street. So, after 10mb, they have to apologize to their kids for not getting them the school text books that month. Or for only being able to afford nappies/diapers for half the month.
That is the cost of over inflating and misleading advertising, and while you at Cell C can sit back and say, "Oh sorry but pay up", there are some citizens of this beautiful country who actually believed that hype and fell for it. The consequences being theirs to bare, not yours, Cell C. So, next time, give a thought to the children who might suffer due to your actions, to the babies with nappy rash, to the guy who can only now afford a can of beans for dinner each night because he thought 15c was actually the case so left his email/whatsap on in order to contact his wife late at night when he finished his shift on the mines.
Does this make sense? Do you see the consequences of actions? Do you care? Anyways, whatever I hope Craig Knott sleeps well at night and I hope the Cell C reps here can be a little less short worded and try understanding the common mans plight in this dog eat dog world. Good day and God Bless.
