Strange adsl speed change!

I've realized something very weird just now! I've got a 384Kbps Adsl connection but when I go to my internet settings and change it to 512Kbps (which I am not subscribed for) the speed actually increases! I always downloaded at 38KB-41KB per second and now I download at 50KB-60KB per second!:eek::eek::eek: How is this possible? Am I making a stupid mistake or something?

^^ What he said. I'd also love to know where about because I've never encountered an option to set the speed on the client side.
 
could not find anything about changing router ADSL speed settings. please tel us what kind router you have hahaha
 
You cannot change it - the router either sync at that speed or it doesn't.
