Strange Linux Sharing Issue/Media Files stop playing halfway from network share

I have an Linux Mint 9 x64 install, which I use mainly for sharing files. That is all this machine does, now all my other machines (Windows 7 and Linux) can see it fine etc.

However sometimes if I am playing an mp3/avi etc through the network, it just stops half way? Happens every now and then and only if I am playing it from the Linux Mint 9 share?

What happens when the file is shared from Windows?

The problem is way to general to run a useful diagnostics, you need to narrow it down a bit.
Logs, anything weird there?
Some random timeout setting on Samba server?
Authentication issues with sessions being dropped after a set time?
Network stable?
etc.
