Hey there,

Anyone any good with bitemarks from spiders and what not?

Woke up a couple of days ago, felt a slight sensitive area on my forearm. Looked and there was a tiny red dot but nothing suspect so I ignored it.

Today it is a small scab as if someone dug their nail while gripping my arm, then clear and normal around the scab but a bruise around that only a little bigger than a R5 coin but it won't go away and is plainly obvious to see.

So now I am curious if this was a bite of sorts?

Now I don't know if my imagination got the better of me now but around the same time I had strange but not heavy pains everywhere at random and also recently recovered from a "stomach bug" which is what I assumed it was.

I did not take much notice of the times all of these occured :/ I am very careless in that way, but maybe they are linked :rolleyes: lol.

Sounds too big to be a flea bite mark.

If it were a vampire, it would be on the neck.

That is as far as my knowledge of bite marks go he he !

"a tiny red dot". Spiders have two... fangs...
SO its not a spider. Maybe a nasty misquito bite? :D

Its pretty late in the afternoon and you still cant spell morning :D So you never know! Im not a zoologist / spider handeler of any sort so I really cant be sure.
If it was the size of :D I would be worried! :D

Sounds serious. I suggest you see your gynaecologist as soon as possible...

HAHAHAH!!! :D

Well I will just keep checking it out now and then. Also wondered if a tick can cause a mark like that :/ I really just want to know what the heck it was :p

Could be a many different things....so I'd say just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse then see a GP.

My personal opinion is that as you live in Gauteng it cannot be a tick bite as it is a bit cold.I would rather go for a spider bite. However the bruising is more worrying. As you were stumbling around as you put it you may have accidently hit your forearm which caused the bruise.Furthermore this can also cause an older injury to form a scab which is normally white. It could also be a old bite which has not healed properly.I have both types of problems which seem to be worse in winter.A very old bite on my anckle and a scab forming on my elbow caused by a car accident. However I would see a doctor very quickly about it because a spider bite could become very nasty.

Just keep an eye over it, spider bites can be really dangerous. My mother and sister was in the hospital due to "knopie" spider bites. :(

Sh it yes, button spider very unpleasant I believe...

Good thing Jonny's bite isn't on his foot, we would be calling him Jonny one shoe

Hopefully it's not the bite of a violin spider...

The picture that they show is of an American Brown Recluse spider. This is what a violin spider looks like:
