I'm having a strange problem with my router, its default setting of halfbridge worked very well untill I got uncapped from axxess, theres nothing wrong with the account, however I am used to using pppoe connections from 1 PC, with the other PC's using the account in the router.
Now that I have Uncapped, I can only have one uncapped connection alive at a time. So I plugged in the uncapped account into the router and it works lika a charm on all the other PC's except the one that used to use PPPoE connections. It just doesn't connect, iv'e tried with IE, Safari, Firefox, and Google chrome, and none seem to work, I can connect to the network, but internet will only work if I open a pppoe connection. This gives me unnecessary problems as everytime I want to download something I need to close the Uncapped connection on the router and open a pppoe connection on the PC.
Any advice? the PC has an Nvidia Nforce netowrk adapter.

Ok, this is really funny. Its the first time that no one has replyed to my thread. Is my problem unclear, or is it that people are too busy, if anyone has the slightest hint as to what might be the solution to the problem please help....

Set up brige mode on the router and add the acc to your pc and share the con like in the old 56k days. This takes away a some delay build into the router aswell.

Finally, Thanks. What about the PC's, cellphones etc connected via wifi. It might help but doesn't solve the problem. I think I may just have to reinstall the OS. I tried reinstalling the Network Driver but it made no difference at all.
I did use route sentry about 6 months ago, and failed to get the settings right, I uninstalled it and ever since used a pppoe connection, could the problem have been caused by route sentry?

Route sentry can't cause any problems. Do you have Windows XP SP3? If so you might just need to set the DNS settings manually...

Just do the following:
  • "Start"
  • "Control Panel"
  • "Network Connections"
  • Right-click on "Local Area Connection"
  • "Properties"
  • Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
  • "Properties"
  • Choose "Use the following DNS server addresses"
  • Type 10.0.0.2 in the "Preferred DNS server"

The uncapped accounts only support one session so if the router is connect you won't be able to connect another PPPoE session with the PC.

Unless you connect from the pc with a different ISP account.

Thats exactly my problem. The uncapped allows for only 1 connection, hence the router. but I have 1 PC in my home that doesnot seem to want to use the internet from the router. It wants me to dial a pppoe connection. Regardless of what I try, it fails to use the router.
