Hi all,

PLEASE could someone help me out here... this is now beyond frustrating and I'm not exactly the brightest when it comes to tech issues.
I am running an uncapped 5 meg line and have Unotelly with an Apple TV. When I first installed these, all channels ran fine without buffering. For the past week or so i have been having problems with a lot of channels not running for more than 5 seconds before buffering again and have to wait atleast a minute till it starts running again.
When doing speed tests I am running a ping of around 25ms and speeds of just under 5 meg.

Any suggestions would really be greatly appreciated.

Telkom Internet your ISP by any chance?

You're leaving out the most important information like what kind of connection are you using (ADSL, Wisp, etc) and who is your ISP?

Are you running local speedtests or international ones?

5Mbps should be fine for streaming.

I have had similar issues - Unotelly/Netflix on my Afrihost 4Mb ADSL line
When started - streaming was seamless/no buffering - of late - say last month buffers all the time.

Its the same issue i am having on my business uncapped 4MB from afrihost. I coulnt even stream youtube last night

I'm on 10mbps TI Do Uncapped and couldn't stream 480p+ on anything. Guessing it was either a server issue with YouTube or an IPC link.

I've had horrible streaming for months now - thought it was only Telkom ... but from posts above it happens on all ISPs?

So speed increase or a new ISP won't help me?

4mb Telkom ISP here
