Streaming RWC games - Issues/Problems/Solutions

As suggested by a previous forumite - I activate my vpn to a foreign location, start the stream on Rugbypass tv, go out an de activate the vpn, back into rugbypass. works a charm and no buffering. Plus good quality display.
I tried it over the weekend and it failed for me as soon as I disabled my vpn

DSTV Stream tonight is so bad. First time seeing a pixelated mess, as if I am using some free /crap service. Not happy!!
I haven’t seen that. Might be your fibre ISP dropping the ball. My DStv has been rock solid tonight.

Is rugbypass streaming quality good over VPN?

We've been streaming via ITV and UK VPN node but it buffers every 5 minutes or so and pauses for 5-10 seconds. This is despite getting a 130Mbps download speedtest through the VPN.

So you start the stream with VPN on and once the stream is on you disconnect the VPN. They use Akamai so the server switches to a local server for streaming and you get zero buffering.

I saw another post by someone saying they do that with rugbypass, but then someone else tried it and it did not work. Are you streaming it this way?

I've got people wanting to come and watch the next game here and don't want to look like a chop with a şhitty quality stream.

Yes I tried it a couple of times. The best is to find a vpn that works well with a Greece server.

Basically what happens, is you authenticate in Greece/Hungary etc., you make connection to the stream server. You disconnect the VPN, as it served it's purpose. RugbyPass uses Akmai for distribution. You are authenticated, your connection "glitches" when you switch off VPN, but client is still connected and authenticated, so it reconnects to closest server which is local. Streaming resumes.

If it is a SA game, you can cast SABC from your phone, and cast to your Chromecast, watched the Cricket at work, that way.

I know of a local IPTV service provider where you can get Stan Sports 4K streaming. I found it a hit and a miss sometimes. Very little buffering. Sometimes the sound will be missing but not that often. The 4K broadcast only works when there's a live event. Then there's also TNT Ultimate 4K channel for the European rugby club/premiership.

4K UHD live sports streaming still has a long way to go.

We all know how IPTV services are. A pain in the a... sometimes. No perfect service.
Just ensure you have a speed connection higher than 50Meg for 4K Live sports streaming.

IPTV Live Rugby streaming channels available,
AU Stan sports - 4K (not true 4k) Excellent picture quality. Some buffering.
Fox sports - good quality streaming (1080p) Almost no buffering
Sky sports NZ - good quality streaming (1080p) Almost no buffering
FR BeIN sports - good quality streaming (1080p) Almost no buffering
Local sports channels SS - not good quality streaming (720p)

7 Hour trial
160 Rands monthly (Dynasty package)

Connecting to vpn, location Greece. Start RugbyPass TV live stream. I usually wait about 5mins then I switch off the vpn. streaming resumes and so far I have not had a bad experience. However, nothing in this life is assured. If you don't want to look like a chop then go to someone who has dstv or your nearest pub.
