Unfortunately the powers that be took away my ability to create threads. However this is about Rugby and it is relevant to this thread.

Like most people I pay my TV license, I own a open view decoder that has SABC on it. There is literally no other way to use SABC other then with an OpenView decoder. So why the **** couldn't I watch "the only" game I wanted to watch tonight.

I don't care about Springboks and whatever the hell they do. I wanted to watch France vs New Zealand. Because I knew France was going to kick New Zealand in the balls. I was not allowed to do this simple thing.

So why am I paying for TV license if I can't access the FULL SABC products as it is what I am paying for. So fck the rugby fck the Springboks and fck MultiChoice.

Why can't you just use an antenna like an ordinary human being? Or since you seem to have internet access, stream it? Or are you just looking for something to complain about rather then solve the problem at hand?

In large parts of the country antennas don't work anymore due to the eventual digital migration. But yes, hissyfit of note.

@Katelknaap is right, most arias it just doesn't work at all. DSTV knows this, it is actually a selling point here. they knew exactly what they did. They screwed us over. Well I hope MultiChoice fails and burn and fcking disappear. I wanted to invite my Stepfather to come and watch the game with me today. First game is always good. But no, MultiChoice with only their greed in mind decided to play god. Well I sincerely hope SuperSport and MultiChoice fails to the point that they don't exist anymore. I am actually really upset about this. Because I am probably one of the very few people that pay my SABC every year in full without slipping up once.

Iif you have fibre, just get yourself a decent IPTV service and you'll never look back. Just be patient, you might have to try a few until you find a decent one, but it's worth it in the end. I gave up my DSTV years ago as I wasn't willing to pay their exorbitant fees for what they provide. Watched the game on the UK ITV channel tonight with decent, knowledgeable and unbiased commentary and the signal was rock solid.

I got a nice TV Box, it supports Google Play and is Google certified. But I suspect my ISP Telkom blocked my VPN because it was worthless for the entire game and when it was done, like magic everything just started to work again. But yea it is over now. Like I said no more rugby. My Stepdad actually messaged me, he knows how disappointed I am.

But its fine MultiChoice is failing and every time I read that they are slowly disappearing I will have a braai, I have never hated anything as much as I hate MultiChoice. But judging from all the WhatsApp groups thousands and thousands of people are upset not just me. Maybe this will end MultiChoice. I literally watched how over 12 WhatsApp groups how people exploded. So I hope MultiChoice gets taken to court and I hope they get fcked in such a way that they can never recover.

Brave man using Telkom as your ISP. Luckily Afrihost has been decent on my side so far and I haven't even needed a VPN for either of the IPTV services that I've used in my time with them.

I can't think of any local company that I dislike more than MultiChoice.

@10:10 Dude just cancel your SABC or whatever and get IPTV service, problem solved it averages from R180 to R250 per month. Watch all the live TV, plus latest movies & series on demand.

I was under the assumption all these areas now had a digital terrestrial signal?

Because MultiChoice blocked people from watching the first game, I think the world cup lost a lot of momentum in South Africa, I respected those around me and didn't take videos of countless people burning their Springbok T-shirts. But the backlash I think is real. I think MultiChoice singlehandedly killed rugby and the love for the game.

I don't understand our broadcasting commission. On the one hand they say SABC must go digital, now the digital viewers can't watch the games. I saw MyBB reporting on this here OpenView hits back at DStv over Rugby World Cup ban. The real world implications are going to be huge. More people will abandon DSTV as our economy continues to lose momentum.

Credit to all the bars and restaurants that changed the channels credit to all the people that cheered them on to do so. That is how South Africans stand together. Forget MultiChoice. they don't stand for South Africans they undermine us and attack us out of greed.

Even if MultiChoice allow the next games on OpenView the damage is done. It doesn't matter what they do, South Africans will treat MultiChoice with utter disgust and disdain.

They killed Rugby, F1, & Cricket.

So the ITVX was a fail. Loaded it Thursday evening working fine. Yesterday morning I tested it a again and was running ITV2 for an hour or so. Just before the game, booom blocked. Don't know how. maybe they blocked everyone that joined the last day or two?
'Then switched to SABC app, sorry cant broadcast this content.
Luckily SABC+ worked perfect on the tv's browser.

So a bit buggered now for games that is not on SABC. Heard a few guys struggling with rugby pass and buffering, so also does not sound like a good option.
My ITV account is still from the previous world cup. Same happened to me, could watch the opening match ceremony and then with kick off boom. Sweeties vir jou....

I reckon after the WC is over a lot of folk will be ditching DSTV and have only been holding on for the WC!
I use to invite my Stepdad to watch the first game with me for as long as I have been independent. Because of Eskom my income is all over the place. So R800+ for DSTV isn't on my priority list.

Normally we only watch the first game together and have a braai. I normally go all out as my Stepdad and I are very close. Despite his entire family giving him grief he accepted me as his child. This is the first time our tradition was broken. I know he loves the sport so he visited other family for the night. I was invited but couldn't make it due to the long drive.

MultiChoice took this from me/us for no good reason. They knew that near 100% of us can't pick up SABC analogue anymore. It never worked to begin with in many arias. This was slap in the face for every South African family, personal punch in the gut for everyone who's income isn't all that good. MultiChoice made a point that hey are a profit only company without a soul. Watching MultiChoice burn to the ground will be my new hobby.

This was just horrible day for me.

My IPTV worked 100%...not one buffer for 2.5 hours I watched.

By the way...why is Du Pont being heralded as the #1 scrumhalf in world rugby? He was absolutely DISMAL...

A Smart TV
the ITV App loaded on the smart TV
Good Internet
an ITV account

P.S. I don't know HOW it works.
Yea, I will stick with Spotify, at least it is legal. I don't care for TV much. To be honest with you I don't care for it at all. I am thinking of taking my dish down today. Just out of protest. Let OpenView suffer just as much as MultiChoice. One gets the feeling that OpenView could have done more but didn't. So they can go burn as well. The only reason why I will continue to pay my SABC TV license is because it is a legal requirement and a fuking lawyer cost more.

Why are you needing to use VPN? SABC is streamable locally. But clearly you're not really interested in a solution
