Streaming SABC from another country

Hi,

I'm a noob regarding satellite TV. I've only got SABC and etv. No Dstv or anything like that...

I'm wondering if it's possible to stream or watch SABC 3 from another country. If I went abroad for some time, for example to the UK or US, how do I watch SABC 3?

I get a lot of people PM'ing me about a post years back for a device that allows you to stream on the net. Such devices work well as they can also be controlled remotly (even allowing you to send IR signals to the decoder) but they come at a cost - bandwidth is expensive in this country.

You could also setup a mythTV box and stream that, but once again bandwidth costs are too expensive.

If there's a reason with a big F..K YOU SABC at the end it's as simple as get a tv tuner, run vlc, make stream (http://www.videolan.org/).

Otherwise please don't inflict SABC cancer on foreign nations, they did nothing to deserve that.

I use vlc to stream all kinds of live content over the wug and to my mobile devices works like a charm.

Yep, bandwidth is expensive here. I'm assuming I could also do that if I am in another country besides SA.

I know you guys are being sarcastic here...

I'm female, so it come's with the territory...I like soapies. So if I was going abroad for a while, I need to watch my soapies or otherwise I'll die!!! I read that Days of our Lives is no longer showing in the U.K.

I guess there are no other methods to watch SABC from another country? *That's me being daft
