I was just wondering if it is possible to stream videos from a Mede8er to a TV that has a network port. Not too sure of the model of the TV, but it is a 46' Sony and 500X Mede8er.

EDIT: And it is half the price if you don't want a gaming console and sports a nicer user interface
Why not just use HDMI?

The Mede8er? Its pixelated and laggy as a drunk hobo trying to tie his shoelace. No thanks. I'l stick to my HTPC.

1stly there is a PS3 in the TV room and the Mede8er is in my room. So I was wondering if it was possible to stream videos from the TV room and doing it via HDMI, wait I can actually do that. Connect it via an HDMI cable. Actually pulled a cable through for the HDPVR, but need a splitter anyway. So can just as well connect the Mede8er via HDMI
2ndly, Mede8er is just being used to watch movies, of which I probably use about 2 -3 times a week. Not a big gamer, so why didn't want to go for a bulkier PS3 just to watch movies.

The ps3 is a crappy media player, fair enough it plays most avi files, but in this day and age most HD and 3D video files are distributed using the Mkv codec, which the ps3 has absolutely no support for, unless transcoded which puts unnecessary strain on the networked pc used to stream the video. You wouldn't have this problem with a media player. The ps3 also has that crap copy protection thing it is very annoying when watching a movie and all of a sudden the thing cuts of for that protection thing half way through the movie.
The best media player option is a networked HTPC wich has all the codecs instlled cuppled with a good media center software, and uncapped internet connection, beats the ps3 anyday and dstv as well. unless you got dstv for sport ofcourse

I recently brought a Sony Handycam 1080p with 5.1 and built in projector with the birth of my son. With the quality of that, it makes me think, wtf! are cams taken with freakin vcr tape or something
And the handycam is tiny!
