Strike two for FNB’s Rbjacobs

It was in bad taste, but the uproar and the reqquested punishment does not fit the crime. Twitter needs to grow a heart. Twitter is for humans. Humans ***** up from time to time...

I think both parties need to cool down offline. Banks can't get personal and Justin Asher must take what he gives.

I was appalled that the FNB CEO declined to come onto 702 last night, as Jordan have done.

I see that Justin guy apologised - and judging by the history he often tweeted to FNB and quite friendly to each other.

Hey @Rbjacobs it seems this has spiralled out of control. How about we go for a virtual waffle and hug it out? #friends

I'm appalled, well not really, by the level of public attention this is getting. Rather criticise FNB over poor service and high fees and not over some low tier employee who posted some BS on a BS platform. People really are shallow.

I don't understand why FNB even has a twitter account. I really don't understand companies push into social media. The very nature of it means that these things are bound to happen and I don't think they really get any benefit from it.

You'd be crazy not to. Social media can spread misinformation and rumors about a company very quickly. You need to monitor that and manage your reputation online.

Not a single fsck given. Does RBJacobs facilitate speedy resolution of problems and/or quickly provide accurate information? Yes/no?

Nope - FNB have knowingly raised charges for services they have not delivered - Both Michael J and RBJacobs were made aware of it and they just kept your money ;-)

How did they 'not deliver' this service? Are you not getting POPs?

Well - I had a POP sent to myself, which never arrived. Checking my mail server logs - there wasn't even a delivery attempt. When I queried it with them - they admitted they had a general failure where lots of POP's were not delivered and gave me a refund.
They said they would only refund on queries, even though it's quite possible to work out for whom they didn't deliver mails. This was escalated to their online CEO Lee-Anne van Zyl.
Of course most people send POP's to other people - not themselves - so people wouldn't even know the service wasn't delivered.

So basically - they know they didn't deliver a service, and they still charged people for it.

Ah, okay. Problematic.
