Strong results for MTN

Telecommunications operator MTN Group on Thursday reported a 33% increase in adjusted headline earnings per share to 904.4c for the year ended December 2008 from 681.9c a year ago. Basic HEPS increased by 43% to 836.5c.

The funny thing is that their customer service is moving in the opposite direction. Profit at all cost.

good for MTN
(but not too many others)

"Strategic priorities include actively seeking value-accretive expansion opportunities in emerging markets"

:) sweet

And now with R17billion in operating profit, what are they doing about fixing the issues everyone has with them? i.e. Their support (or in most cases, lack there of), educating their employees at their branches about their products, etc etc?

Unfortunately, that's never going to happen, they'll just continue to milk the consumer.
