People get paid to play games? :wtf:

now take into account a subscription is $5. twitch takes half. there are ads on the page that add to income and then there is donations. most people add a message to the donation that then gets either read out loud by the streamer or by text to speach.
twitch took a survey recently showing about 90% of it's users run adblock. and streamers only get $2.50 a subscriber as twitch takes half. each viewer generates fractions of a penny per ad, so even with 10k people watching (which only a handful of streamers ever get), factoring in the 90% deficit, that's 1,000 imprints making fractions of a penny each. of course it adds up, but not to more than far less than minimum wage offers per year. The streamers that make the most money (aside from league players that are heavily sponsored, receive hundreds per day in flat donations, and have upwards of 20k viewers each stream) are those with the most loyal monthly subs and receive the most consistent donations (of larger than say 10 dollars). They make enough money to not have to work. that's about it. unless you start piling on sponsorships, you won't be making "big bucks" at all. and the odds of that ever happening are similar to winning the lottery.
