Good evening.

I have a 3TB internal drive in an external enclosure attached via firewire to my secondary pc. I prefer to watch this content on my primary pc and stream the content over the network (from the 3TB through the secondary pc via my router to my primary pc). Unfortunately, video content consistently lags. Every few seconds the video stops and appears to be buffering (sometimes the image pixelates for a few seconds as well). This is irrespective of the size of the file being viewed. Leaving the video to 'buffer' by pausing it or just leaving it to stream the content, then skip back to the beginning does not help.

Please, any help guys?

Thanks.

Few questions:
1. Are the PC's connected via a 100Mbps or Gigabit (1000Mbps) network? Is it a direct connection PC-to-PC or are the PC's connected via a hub/router?
2. Does it do the same when the drive is connected directly to your primary PC?
3. What program are you using to stream the video content?
4. What file-types are being streamed - .avi .mkv .wmv etc?
