I moved from cool ideas to Afrihost because Cool Ideas backbone to JHB was no good each evening as everyone got online you ping to games would go to 500 to 6000 plus, Afrihost did not have this issue and am very happy with them so far, This YouTube thing is very annoying have to admit but not as annoying as changing ISP, as with Octatell, I have to get Afrihost to release my fibre and then new ISP have to get Octatell to assign it to them and this is can take a couple of days. I work from home and can't afford my connection to be down for that period of time. I have tried Afrihost unlimited LTE as a bridge until my fibre was moved to them, but when they say unlimited they mean hard limited to a couple of GB, and I was not throttled down I was cut off. So the hassle of moving out weigh the hassle of YouTube cache not working 100%.

Anyone with AH / Openserve getting lots of youtube buffering again? Last few days it feels like every video buffers - especially when jumping around in timeline.

Afrihost - Frogfoot, can confirm YouTube has been very iffy. 4K Streams pretty much fail to buffer enough to play fine (120Mbps line)
 
I'm using a PiHole with Unbound for DNS and it's still doing it...

Guess we'll just have to download the youtube videos, watch them and then delete them... Messy, but effective...

Now, where's that eye patch? ARRR!
 
How does it work that some videos feel so broken? Then a different one is fine.

Also buffering intermittently on youtube and dropping down to 144p. Been having the issue on and off for the past 3 days.
