Suarez and Evra Thread.

****ing hell Suarez is such a cry baby. Just get over it already. Everyone else has.

Er, he was answering questions a journalist asked him.

It's not him that's just come out and released a statement or something FFS. I wish this issue would just go away too, but it seems like the media is obsessed with bringing it up as often as possible.

Black v White is bigger than just sport.

Trying to hoodwink people thinking this is lala-land with everything rosy is a pipe dream...

Also I don't know how you can expect people to "just get over it" when they've been labelled a racist when you obviously are not.

You would probably find that the interview was conducted months ago, but the media keeps it for slow news days and then it seems as if he held the interview yesterday.

Some sources say that the he was answering questions in Uraugauy(sp) which I find hard to believe because he is playing in the olympics and I'm pretty sure his team would be in the UK by now.

The Anton Ferdinand-John Terry saga will probably fuel this as well.

The court ruling in that case may tie the hands of the FA and this will cause Suarez to question the FA again as to why Terry escaped conviction and he did not.

Terry should get a ban as well.

I haven't read the entire transcript but from the ones being posted about the trail Ferdinand did say he didn't hear it and does not believe he made a racist comment - No complaint was lodged with the FA regarding the incident. So not FA's right to charge Terry with anything

How does that explain this;

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia – The court trial that found John Terry not guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand was “traumatic” for the QPR defender, his manager Mark Hughes said on Monday.

Hughes was speaking at a press conference in the Malaysian city of Kota Kinabalu, where his side will play an exhibition match against a local side on Tuesday.

On QPR's arrival in the city on Saturday, Ferdinand declined to comment on Terry's acquittal on Friday at a London court.

“Anton gave his side of what happened in court and it was certainly a traumatic experience for him,” Hughes told reporters.

“So far he has reacted well and is committed to the Asian tour, where we have three friendly matches to play.

Chelsea skipper Terry and Ferdinand could yet face disciplinary action from England's Football Association for bringing the game into disrepute – they admitted in court to verbally abusing each other several times.

Ferdinand's account of the run-in:

"He called me a c***, and I called him a c*** back. And he gave me a gesture as if to say my breath smelled. I said to him: "How can you call me a c***? You shagged your team-mate's missus, you're a c***."

And here are some selected passages from the chief magistrate's verdict.

The Crown say that Mr Terry responded by aiming the words "f*** off, f*** off, yeah, yeah and you f***ing black c***, f***ing knobhead", and possibly one or more other words, at Mr Ferdinand.

The defendant does not deny that he used the words, "f*** off, f*** off", "f***ing black c***" or "f***ing knobhead". His case is that his words were not uttered by way of abuse or insult nor were they intended to be abusive or insulting.

It is obvious, and again not in dispute, that at the time that John Terry said "black c***" and "f***ing knobhead" he was angry.

In cross-examination he accepted that he appears to use the word "and" and as a result the only difference between the prosecution and the defence is that the Crown alleged he says "you/ya f***ing black c***" whereas the defence case is that he said "a f***ing black c***?" There are missing words, and I have not been prepared to speculate as to what they may be.

Clearly Ferdinand believes he was abused. John Terry does not deny saying what he is alleged to have said, only contesting the intended purpose. Terry's defence hinged on the inability to determine what Ferdinand was saying and by claiming to have said "a f***ing black c***?" the defence argues that Ferdinand himself had called himself that and Terry repeated the statement as a question.

The FA, like the Suarez-Evra case, should have gotten on to this and not let it slide. The verdict will make it impossible for Terry to be charged unless they come up with a new charge, such as bringing the game into disrepute, but he cannot face charges of racism.

But at the end of the day it's safe to say that both players were behaving like juveniles, a racial slur was made - whether by Ferdinand and repeated by Terry or by Terry - and Terry is just a knobhead in general.

Exactly what you posted, my post touched on the fact that Ferdinand - at the time not log a complaint that Terry called him a B**** C*** but someone else in the crowd logged the complaint with the police...

In the case of Evra -> Suarez, Evra went to the linesmen and filed a complaint
