Suarez and Evra Thread.

Its obvious that some people are too stupid and blinded by ignorance to judge the facts that have been presented during this racism saga.

How are they milking the situation? They have done a piss poor public relations exercise, and will be lucky if they don't lose sponsors, but they certainly aren't milking it.

Standard Chartered have come out and publicly backed Liverpool. was in the media yesterday

How are they milking the situation?

I meant compared to Evra. After the complaint was made Dalglish and Suarez made comments to the press, eve though they were told not to by the FA. In Suarez's case it helped him get banned, in Dalglish's case it embarassed him. He even suggested that Evra be banned from Anfield if no evidence were found. I hope he now suggests that Suarez be banned from Old Trafford, if he doesn't want to sound like a complete hypocrite.

Except when he told the french TV station Canal+ that Suarez called him whatever he did "at least 10 times" and then suddenly changed his story. I really don't see how you think LFC is "milking" the situation especially because it is due to their detriment?

He didn't 'suddenly change his story'. One was an emotional interview straight after the incident, and he admitted to using a phrase that was hyperbolic. In any case, it didn't really hinge on his testimony, but on Suarez's lies.

Could Suarez not have laid a counter complaint for vile insults against his sister ?

Maybe. If he had a sister. He does not.

Evra even said Suarez isn't racist. the FA said they don't believe he is racist.

his racism offence was based on someone whom has a chip on his shoulder.

do you honestly think Evra took offence to the word Negro, ignoring Suarez's explanation, when he himself said Nigga previously?
So Evra is at fault for being racially abused?

according to Evra's version events. this matter wouldn't even stand up in a court of law.

Suarez has been made a scapegoat. the FA had to punish him after they took the high ground with Sepp's comments and called for his resignation.

also why would Evra take offence to being called black when he himself called someone a mother****ing Nigga?

He called no one that. That was a video of Evra trying to be funny. Unless you know who he called that?

It's on youtube. will providm a link when at my pc

that's hypocritical and he has a chip on his shoulder. remember the Chelsea groundsmam incident?

Hernandez calls him whatever Suarez called him all the time, he didn't have a problem with Hernandez calling him that.

EDIT: I still think this whole thing is a farce. Just ridiculous.

My two cents on this... Either the refs need to take a hard line on all abusive language, either between players or towards the officials, or let what happens on the pitch stay on the pitch. The players are going tooth and nail at the officials week in and week out and are going unpunished, from all teams... But throw race into it and its an 8 match ban. Now, I honestly don't condone Suarez's comments or behaviour, but FFS, why is this the line that's suddenly been Crosses, (admittedly I am white and have never been on the wrong end of racial abuse) yet ANY other comments go unpunished? Personally I think its a total knee jerk over reaction by the FA, and if it was a man u player doing the abusing in the other direction to a Liverpool player these comments would simply be reversed.

So was it a hyperboly when Ferguson said seven times as well?

No, not if that's what Evra told him. And in any case, the report said it probably was 7 or so times, so what's wrong with it.

Supposedly there is a law saying that insults on the field should be punished if heard by the ref and they are complained about, but most of them let it go. When it comes to issues of race, though, I disagree. Ban them for longer than 8 matches, in my opinion, especially if they are serious about 'Kick It Out'.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. Most fans will use this as a high horse position to lord it over opposition fans. I can only speak for myself, though, that if it was a United player doing something like this, I'd want him off the team for good.

No the report said exactly five times. When Fergusen clearly said 7 which he got from Evra. If Suarez is unreliable then he same can be said for Evra and Fergie.
