Suarez and Evra Thread.

Supposedly there is a law saying that insults on the field should be punished if heard by the ref and they are complained about, but most of them let it go. When it comes to issues of race, though, I disagree. Ban them for longer than 8 matches, in my opinion, especially if they are serious about 'Kick It Out'.

I think the FA has a massive credibility issue in this regard. Its easy to say Evra started it and Suarez took it too far, but if they punished Evra too and took a hard line on other players, where you can clearly see what is being said, we might see an improvement. Its high time they started citing players after games (don't get me started on diving)

No the report said exactly five times. When Fergusen clearly said 7 which he got from Evra. If Suarez is unreliable then he same can be said for Evra and Fergie.

From the FA report:

In total, Mr Suarez used the word "negro" or "negros" seven times in the penalty area. On
each occasion, the words were insulting. On each occasion, Mr Suarez breached Rule
E3(1). Accordingly, the Charge is proved.

Again, punished Evra for what exactly?

My mistake at the hearing Evra says he used it five times. Yet the committe settled on 7 based on what?

This requires us to answer a number of questions, including: Do we accept Mr Suarez's
evidence that he used the word "negro" only once when he said to Mr Evra "Por que,
negro?" ("Why, black?"), which was used in a conciliatory and friendly way that is
customary in Uruguay? Or, do we accept Mr Evra's evidence that Mr Suarez used the
word "negro" five times in the goalmouth when he said to Mr Evra "Porque tu eres negro"
("Because you are black"), "No hablo con negros" ("I don't speak with blacks"), and "Dale,
negro, negro, negro" ("Okay, blackie, blackie, blackie)?

After Stuart Downing's arrest for assulting his ex last weekend, Police have advised women to dress as a full back, as he hasn't beaten one of those in a very long time

Racism used to be something serious were people were displaced, oppressed and even lost their lives due to racial hatred. Its incidents like these that marginalises a serious issue to nothing more than school ground name calling.

The FA has obviously seen the seriousness in this - I think the Pool supporters are marginalising a serious issue to nothing more than what goes on in a school ground - even so far as to attack Evra for reporting it

+1

Its a simple card to pull based on past oppression.

Let me guess.... Poor Evra... he is probably earning around 150 000 pounds a month.... and i suppose he will need medication to recover from all the stress, trauma and anguish that he has been put through.

Is he still crying..... all the way to the bank.

If he really was traumatised by the incident he should open a civil case. Will he then be prepared to stand in a court of law and defend himself and/or prove himself to be a victim or will the skeletons come out his closet, suggesting he has no idea what racism is about ???

Care to explain the seriousness of the incident, because I am trying hard and I am clearly missing the point.

I'll concede the FA must be congratulated for protecting the spanish speaking, lip reading, football watching kids around the world from being exposed to Saurez saying that he doesn't speak to black people, when he clearly does. By lying like that he sets a terrible example to youngsters.

The way racism is bandied about these days in this over PC world we are creating, its taking the focus off the real issues with racism. As we speak, people in the South of Sudan is being slaugtered by the village load because of race/tribe so excuse me for not giving a toss about a multi-millionare, Ferrari driving footballer, feeling wronged because a fellow player called him "Blackie, Blackie, Blackie...".

- So according to your sarcasm , if the kids wasnt exposed then nothing needed be done - forget about the player who was racially abused

- Also you seem to deem it ok to to racially abuse someone if they are rich?
So its okay to call someone N!gger, K@ffir, Koolie if they earn millions and drive fancy cars

Fixed. See it does lose some of its impact.

This.

Take it to court, and then see.
