Subaru WRX or Audi S3

I shouldn't be answering this, as my answer might be considered as obvious...;) :p

That being said, however, I wouldn't buy either one second hand. A 200k WRX or STi has probably been driven as hard as hell, and the same goes for the Audi.

I can put you into an immaculate second hand WRX for 309 000 - just be very careful.

i think any performance car has been driver hard ..unless its a old man who bought it for tax purposes

Haha of course we know what you prefer Fazda, but that's why I'm not looking at a 2010/2011 model. Looking at around 2007 ish.
I understand that it's very difficult to not driver either card hard, but it comes down to just looking for the right car.

In your experience how many WRX like I linked in my OP do you come across?

I actually traded in an immaculate red WRX hatch (2008) owned by a doctor who is fanatical about his cars - that went for R220 000 as far as I can remember - that particular car I would have recommended to anyone, but they are like hens teeth unfortunately, as most of the guys are having too much fun to even think of selling them :D

So to back track slightly on my original answer - yes you can find some really nice ones if you look very carefully and I would go WRX over Sti - actually a nicer car to drive as well - the Sti is just too aggressive ... :p

I'm a seasoned Subaru owner, having owned a few in the past and now driving a 2.5STI.

Just some random thoughts:
- Once the scoob gogga bites you, its very hard to let go. Drive one, and you'll understand!
- Get quotes on Insurance premiums for the S3 and the WRX before making a decision.
- Just for fun, get an insurance quote for an STI too. Remember you're only 23 thus insurance will be very very steep!

Yep - was about to say.. Expect insurance of R2000 upwards per month.

The Audi is the better car but it is going to cost you a fortune to maintain, the WRX on the other is a safer option mechanically but will really is a brakpan special kind of car if you know what I mean. I'd go for something a little newerwith less power.

Not much of a Scooby fan...

Think of it this way, youll pick up "better" girls in a S3 than a Scooby ;)

Using a car to impress girls is one of the things you read about in a self help books such as "How not to impress girls". Trust me, if that was the case then girls will be a lot more interested in guys driving convertible pink Nissan Micras.

If you have the chance to buy something exciting then VAG should be last on your list of options. (In fact it always should).

lol got a gf easy enough with my polo, that's pretty much the last thing I'd think of..
