I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this today, but colour me surprised when I got an e-mail from Web Africa saying I had reached my monthly usage limit. I logged into the usage console and they're saying that in the past two days I downloaded almost 3TB of data! Absolutely ludicrous. Not only did they deduct all my available usage, but they also proceeded to cause the automatic topup limit of 500GB to go off.

This, might I add, despite my router reporting that in the past 5 days the household has only used 300GB, which is roughly in line with normal. Additionally, the dashboard shows no other lines having connected, so it's not like someone unscrupulously was using my connection without me knowing.

Now they're looking to invoice me for 8 grand beginning next month? Absolutely ****ing not.

Getting hold of their support over WhatsApp is a joke in its own right, talk about degrading service quality.

Clearly something has happened with the systems that calculate usage, it's gone and erroneously allocated hundreds of GB towards my account and proceeded to try bill me in kind. I expect this to be corrected immediately.

same, one hour before midnight 60+ gb nuked from my cap last night, PC wasn't even on

double checked router stats and it has nowhere NEAR that usage

Yeah, my usage did exactly the same, from 11PM onwards it's basically been recording as maximum rate. 520-odd GB per hour down and 150GB-odd per hour up.

Actual gateway stats report a completely different picture. That usage never took place.

Yep, same same over here. "1.5TB" used in the last day

I have the same issue, i am capped at 200GB(Never happens) and the off peak is at 50 % and i never use 1tb of data on off peak ,getting only 1/4 of my line speed at the moment
The portal is broken again and needs to be restarted or fixed by there *tech* team
Tried to speak to the whats app support line but they useless and dont answer on weekends :(

I'm with Telkom and my service is PERFECT /* ducks and runs...

... what fibre package comes with a cap?

(Serious question)
I don't know if WA officially still offers their capped packages, but they do still exist and I explicitly chose their capped package due to the fact that they do not come with limit-based throttling (or what they term a "FUP"). I require consistent Internet and will pay a bit more for that to be the case.

Would it not be easier to move to a no FUP provider?
