Hi all

I need to submit a visa application (few docs and passport) to an embassy in Joburg.
Since I live in Cape Town, I'll need to use a courier company (both for delivery and then later pickup).

Quotes I've got so far seem too expensive :wtf:

DHL - R276 one way
Fed Ex - R528 one way

Any other courier companies that you guys would suggest ?

Thanks

why not use one of those services that actually do that sort of thing?

or else perhaps I would suggest someone like thecourierguy, or fastway etc. Just a bit worrying having something like your passport being sent via courier

Berco couriers. No problems. Even delivered my 450f 21:00 at night. Unlike a mentioned courier in this thread who goes home at 15:00 with undelivered packages. Useless fks even though I payed for next day delivery.

I had the same problem with the UK embassy last year. Seems that it's not a simple drop-off for the couriers there's certain procedures they have to follow hence the inflated prices.

I work for Dhl and yes the courier service is a specialised one. We have to have a representative on the premises who deal with certain embassies specifically. It is a pain and therefore costs more money. It would be a damn site cheaper if we simply arrived and just dropped off the docs.

Yeh, there's an embassy surcharge, pretty much standard since your paying someone to wait there.
