The uncapped option is not for me, I mostly use data from 17:00 to 22:00 at night. I've seen many people complain about Cell-C fixed LTE, but it is still more affordable than RAIN when the double data deal ends. Has anyone had a positive experience with Cell-C so far?

How much data do you need? And what are your main uses for it?

Hi Speedster. I can make do with about 50-70gb a month. Mostly use it for downloads, browsing and streaming at night.
Your best bet is probably one of the CellC deals or, if the biggest chunk of that is video, Telkom FreeMe (5GB or more)

Thanks Speedster. I think I'll give CellC a go, just hoping for a better experience than all the other commentators on the forum!

Explain just how it will work please? Also give us a source to this good news if possible.

It's no good if you have to restart your router 10 times before you get throughput.

What is the Double Data deal?

Earlier this year Rain (the innovative company that provides this fixed wireless service) launched their incredible value Double Data deal - Anybody who signs up for their service before 30 November 2017 will get double the GBs every month, to use anytime of the day or night, until the end of November 2018 (i.e. next year).

I'd also like a source to confirm this.

I use ~40GB/month generally, so my requirements aren't that big. Rain has been great for me so far. I might even just stick with it when I get downgraded to 25GB, and top up as needed, but if I find that I'm topping up with more than another 25 GB then I'll switch over to Octotel fibre.

Couldn't agree more. They seem to have more problems than not. What's the point of getting double data if you can't use it.

Rain has been pretty stable and reliable in my experience (Kenilworth / Claremont, Cape Town). The double data was pretty nice.

The last few months, it has gotten a bit slower in the evenings but still quite useable. Miles faster than the 1Mbps ADSL connection I was using previously for about the same money... :rolleyes: The evenings weren't an issue for me anyway since I'm not big into streaming TV at that time, prefer to spend it with the family. Internet at home is mostly for my wife as she works from home and during working hours the Rain LTE has been great.

My Source is from IS Ignite we are resellers and they sent out a message to let us know about the double off peak data for all users...If you PM me I can send you more information

@dillydog PM sent - I am looking for a larger package that's also double data i.e 55+55

I am stuck on this, already have a rain mobile sim for uncapped between 23:00 and 18:00 so getting halve the data I do now might not work. Work around might be Cell C and rain mobile
