Summer Transfers

why its what he thinks

dont think united feel insulted about that, players have their own thoughts, nobody has been hit on the head with shoe so i think everything is alright at united :p

again situation is not the same but we will never agree so lets agree to disagree for once :)

Its as bad...his cut contact with Ferguson and hasn't spoken to him since May.Refused to take his calls and Ferguson has just canceled a trip to visit him this week.

His made a joke of manchester and fans want to him out.

i want him out, sick of man united being made to feel they need ronaldo, when infact ronaldo needs man united

not really ronaldo, ronaldo has not totally screwed his relationship up with his club

he handled it very well, made himself known but didnt come out guns blazing like barry and act like a child

dont burn bridges
What planet are you on?
Ronaldo has been behaving like...wel ronaldo. Go to red cafe to see what the united fans(guys who live in manchester) have to say about about christene.

so ronaldo has totally screwed up his relationship with man united?

think not

barry on the other hand has totally fu$%ed his relationship up

yea i would love to go to england and see what they saying to be honest , would be a dream come true

Like i said go to red cafe to see just how badly ronaldo has ****ed up his relationship with the fans.
Your in denial killa:D

yes he has fuqed up his relationship with the fans, not with the club though as far as im concerned

remember when he got rooney sent off, i never thought he would play for united again or anywhere in england but once he started playing well they forgot about that incident

same thing this time, although i will admit most fans want him gone, im sure though should he score like he did last season, those same fans will be cheering him on

why united never just took the huge amount of money i will never know :)

I doubt that a player who feels like a slave will go out on the field and give it his all. But wel have to wait and see:)

well cash remember one thing, ronaldo likes the fact that he is no1

he wants to win the best player award every year im sure

i doubt he would destroy his career because he signed a contract and does not want to honour it

see he was fine signing when he was a good player, now that he is the best he thinks he can just get out of it because he wants to

thats not the way it works, united dont want to be known as a selling team which is why they are being like this

ronaldo needs to learn that, had he gone to another club he may not be as amazing as he right now, he may not have had the support play that rooney provided

he may not have been played as a sort of striker/midfielder that he is

as much as skill is needed to become a ronaldo, you also need something to develop that skill and SAF has done that

ronaldo should be grateful to man united for helping him become the best footballer on planet and honour atleast the next season or 2

i agree, he should have more respect for SAF since it was him who made ronaldo the player he is. i hope they sell him and get K.a.k.a

Official :Ronaldinho to be unveiled by Milan tomorrow
Written by SAFF Editor

AC Milan are close to completing the signing of Barcelaona's Ronaldinho. Reports from Italy suggest that the Milan giants will unveil their new signing tomorrow after Barca have accepted their offer for the former two time World footballer of the year.
The Gazzetta dello Sport reported on their website that Milan will pay Barcelona £14.775m for Ronaldinho, with the figure likely to be increased by performance-related bonuses. Ronaldinho himself will be handed a three-year deal worth €6.5m (£5.2m) a year.

"[Barcelona] have dubbed the Rossoneri's offer 'satisfactory'," read Gazzetta's report. "But the player's contract is particularly complicated - in part for non-footballing reasons."

Ronaldinho have been at the center of a transfer saga with English clubs Chelsea and Manchester City also fighting for his signature.

The Italian club are confident that they will get their man, with their club lawyer making the following statement on their official website:

"There is a good chance that Ronaldinho's move to Milan will materialise. There are still some economic problems, but our law office has already prepared the necessary papers. I've spoken to Galliani, he was calm even though no one has put pen to paper yet, I want to emphasize that. We are all waiting."

Update: Milan have now confirmed the transfer when they released this statement: "Tomorrow, the player will be in Milan for the medical, and to sign the contract which will tie him to Milan until June 30th 2011."

GUNNERS KEEN ON ALONSO - AGENT

Xabi Alonso's agent has claimed the Liverpool midfielder is aware of interest from Arsenal.

The Spaniard has seen a possible move to Juventus hit the buffers after the Italian giants signed Christian Poulsen from Sevilla.

However, reports continue to suggest that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is prepared to sell Alonso to fund his own spending plans.

Alonso is rated in the £14million bracket and has now been linked with a move to the Reds' Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is in the market for a midfielder after losing Mathieu Flamini, while Gilberto Silva is set to join Panathinaikos.

Reports in Spain suggest contact has been made between the two clubs and the 26-year-old's agent Inaki Ibanez says the player is waiting for Liverpool's decision.

"The player knows about this subject and now the decision lies with Liverpool," Ibanez told Spanish newspaper Publico.

Alonso's sale would give Benitez the funds to sign Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Hleb medical @ Barca

http://www.fcbarcelona.com/web/catala/noticies/futbol/temporada08-09/07/n080716104941.html

Alexander Hleb is in Barcelona having a medical today which was revealed on Barca’s official website. The move is set to be completed within 24 hours and the transfer fee is expected to be something around ₤11m. Well I’m glad that’s finally getting sorted. Hleb’s been looking to move all summer, at first he was going to go to Inter Milan but then Mourinho took over and he didn’t really fancy that. Since then he’s really had his eyes set on a move to Barcelona and it’s happened for him.

Gareth Barry returns to training as Aston Villa stick to rules

Gareth Barry has been summoned to preseason training at Aston Villa this morning as the stalemate continues over his proposed move to Liverpool, but the England midfield player expects to get his way soon.

Although Barry’s return from exile has been regarded in some quarters as an olive branch from Martin O’Neill, the Villa manager, it appears to have had more to do with Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) rules, which govern that a player cannot be banned from his workplace for longer than two weeks.

Barry was told on July 2 that he was not welcome at training, having given what the club called an “unauthorised” interview in which he criticised O’Neill for blocking his move to Liverpool. A fortnight later, though, PFA rules dictate that the player must be allowed to resume work.

That, rather than a sudden climb-down, is behind yesterday’s curt statement from Villa. But O’Neill remains furious with Barry and will not consider him for his team’s Intertoto Cup match away to Odense, the Danish club, on Saturday - and not only because, having missed the first two weeks of preseason training, the player is short of fitness. Villa are aware of the fitness issue, which could affect the player’s market value.

Given the ill-feeling that has built between manager and player over the past month, O’Neill is resigned to losing Barry. Villa suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat by Lincoln City in a friendly last night, Steve Sidwell, the midfield player signed from Chelsea, playing his first match for the club. However, O’Neill is convinced that, having signed Sidwell and made bids for Brad Friedel, the United States goalkeeper, and David Bentley, the England midfield player, from Blackburn Rovers, as well as registering an interest in Stewart Downing, the Middlesbrough winger, Villa could be a stronger team without Barry next season.

Despite O’Neill’s claims that Arsenal are also interested in the player, Liverpool are refusing to meet Villa’s £18 million valuation for Barry. With Xabi Alonso’s proposed move to Juventus having fallen through, the Merseyside club may have to abandon their summer-long pursuit of the England midfield player.

There have been claims from Anfield that Rafael BenÍtez, the Liverpool manager, has a fall-back option who would cost little more than £6 million. As things stand, BenÍtez does not have enough funds to sign both Robbie Keane, the Tottenham Hotspur forward, and Barry, but he remains confident of offloading Alonso, the midfield player, as well as Scott Carson, the goalkeeper who is weighing up a move to Stoke City or West Bromwich Albion.

Having stated that the transfer budget given to him by Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr, the club’s American owners, amounts to “not much money”, BenÍtez is determined to wheel and deal to raise the funds to buy Keane, Barry and one other player. He has sold John Arne Riise to AS Roma, Danny Guthrie to Newcastle United and Peter Crouch to Portsmouth, and others, such as Charles Itandje, Steve Finnan, Jermaine Pennant and Yossi Benayoun, are available at the right price.

BenÍtez, however, is expected to reject a loan bid from Newcastle for Emiliano Insua, the Argentina Under-20 full back, and an ambitious inquiry from Olympiacos for Lucas Leiva, the Brazil midfield player.

In addition to the unedifying dispute over Barry, Villa and Liverpool competed this summer to sign James Milner, but with Newcastle United determined to retain the services of the winger, the Midlands club have switched their attention to Downing.

While it is not clear if Villa’s interest - which is yet to bring an official bid - is dependent on the success or otherwise of their pursuit of Bentley, O’Neill is understood to be keen to partner Ashley Young with John Carew in attack next season, which would free up space on Villa’s left-hand side.

Downing signed a new five-year contract only five months ago, but Middlesbrough are again steeling themselves to fend off unwanted attention for their most saleable asset, the subject of interest from rival clubs for the past three summers.

Barcelona Plan Mega Buy After Ronaldinho Sale

Barcelona are planning to make a high profile signing after seeing Ronaldinho finally leave the club and have drawn up a list that includes David Villa, Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Frédéric Kanouté, Carlos Tévez and Robinho.

The star-studded set of names may not all be feasible, but it proves that the Blaugrana have not put talks for Emmanuel Adebayor on hold and are aiming for a world class forward, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

It is an ambitious project and one that president Joan Laporta hopes will win over any doubters that he and his board are doing all they can to help the team start winning trophies again.

Ronaldinho may not have left for the mega money that would once have been offered, but the €21m is more than enough to bolster the club's coffers enough to allow them to splash the cash on a new star.

Valencia have stated that do not want to sell Villa with new owner Juan Villalonga appearing determined not to see him leave, but the player's agent has told Barcelona that he would been keen on a move to Camp Nou.

Tévez is another forward that would be very difficult to prise away from his club side, but if Ronaldo stays and Dimitar Berbatov joins Manchester United, there could be scope for a bid.

Robinho would be virtually impossible, but Madrid is refusing to rule out selling him, while Drogba is wanted at Chelsea by new coach Luis Felipe Scolari.

The final name is Kanouté and while he may be a big success at Barcelona it is uncertain if his arrival would be spectacular enough for Laporta's rating to go back up.

New Robinho Deal If Ronaldo Does Not Sign

The Brazilian was said to have become so disgruntled with his position at the Bernabéu that he was looking to force his way out to join Chelsea this summer.

Those rumours were wide of the mark however, and Robinho will only go should Los Merengues succeed in their prolonged quest to prise Ronaldo away from Old Trafford.

One key problem that caused a rift between Madrid and the former Santos forward was the subject of his contract renewal at the club after he requested a pay rise.

Currently earning around €1.8m-a-year, Robinho felt that his performances since joining the club in 2005 warranted him being on a higher scale within the squad.

Negotiations were continuously stalled, but it now appears that a breakthrough has been made with a tacit agreement made on a five-year extension.

That would see the player see his earnings rise to €3m-a-year, which would placate his current desire but may not be enough to make him settle down completely.

Chelsea are still in the frame because Robinho would be allowed to join the Blues should Ronaldo move to Madrid, but only if the Premier League club paid over the odds for him.

Ramón Calderón now believes that he could ease some Madrid members' concerns about the price for the United star by looking to recoup a large part of it by selling Robinho.
