Sunsynk + Home Assistant

It's becoming a monster. LOL.

Love the option to rename the non-essential which for me is only the oven.

I am going have to have two cards, now, the existing one which is on my main HA screen for the wife and guests to see and the 'complicated one' for me on another dashboaard.

Having said that, I was just thinking there must be some card, or template option available in HA or available in HACS, that changes the card output based on who the user is. That would be a moerste big if condition. LOL - think I will stick to two haha

You can set the view visibilty, maybe have one view for you and another view for the rest and set the visibilty accordingly.

That's what I have now, but was meaning that the same card, shows different data depending on who opened it. Of course not for Slip to solve , but a home assistant thing.
 
v1.6.3 Updates
The card supports the display of an additional essential load in both the full and lite views. The following optional new attributes have been added to the load section:
  • additional_loads: Display an additional load on the essential side (one/no)
  • load1_name: Set the display name for the Essential Load 1
The power for the additional load is read from the following optional entities sensor:
  • essential_load1: Sensor that contains the power of your essential load 1 (W)

MPPTs labels can now be customized. The following optional card attributes can be added to the solar section:
- pv1_name:
- pv2_name:
- pv3_name:
- pv4_name:
Sensor data can now be hidden from the card when setting the entities value to `none`. If you prefer to keep the `0` placehoder then set it to zero or any other value

Fixes
Adjust position of the AC temperature when MPPTs is set to `four` to fix overlap
 
Keep up the great work. Any chance anyone else would find a use for at current rate of usage how long in h:min you have left on the battery ??

This releases introduces two new optional entities:
  • energy_cost: For those of you using Tibber or equivalent you can display the current cost per kWh on the card using this attribute
  • solar_sell_247: Displays an icon that updates if solar sell is on or off . The icon can be clicked to toggle this setting if the attribute is supplied with a switch sensor

First time poster in this thread. Be gentle !

Inverter Sunsynk 5k
Battery SolarMD SS4143

The battery dropped out last night during load shedding for the second time since its April installation with 35% capacity still remaining. Beyond these two random occurrences it's been flawless. Long story short, all is in order with the various firmware's on the BMS, loggers, inverter etc. The advice from the battery manufacturer is to charge up to 100% once or twice as week so that cell balancing can take place etc. etc. I have to take their word on this. So not looking for comment on this one. Here's the ask :

Can the KellerZA Add-On enable/disable the Timer setting on the Sunsynk ? Ideally I'd like to automate this via Home Assistant.

As an aside :

I currently run Home Assistant ( HA ) in Docker on a NAS. I'm happy to put down a Pi with a second instance of HA and manage said timer from there. Ideally I'd like to pipe this back to "main" HA instance so that all the automations are in one place. Looks like I could potentially do this with the MQTT gateway deployment option

You don't need an extra pi, you can just setp up a little esp32 to connect to your HA instance

Definitely do able. I am doing this with a similar setup. I have 8kw with 2 x 5kwh batteries.

Understood. I have an Pi 3B+ in the cupboard I was going to make use of

I was however looking for something a little more simple. Maybe some additional explanation is required starting off with I'm no HA guru ( started out 2 weeks ago ) !

Currently I use the timer function on the inverter to limit the battery discharge to 40%. Ideally I'd like to treat that timer like a device or switch that can simply be flipped to on or off. So I don't want HA to manage the inverter entirely, just the timer function
