Sunsynk + Home Assistant

Hi all

With regard to changing the modbus ID on the inverter ( Sunsynk 5k ).

My inverter has a default of slave and modbus0. I changed to modbus 1, heard a click, the inverter pee'd itself and the alarm light turned on. It complained something about a grid change and well, nothing was working. I actually had to revert to modbus0 using the web as it would only cycle through numbers 1 - 16 using the onboard touchscreen, but never to zero.

Anywho. The question is : does the inverter need to be rebooted / powered off completely after changing the modbus ID ? Or am I missing another setting somewhere ?

If you have only one inverter, set to master and modbus sn to 1 and will work. Will beep as well and stop.

@Slip
I've noticed some overlap on Tedlasso's screenshot, picked up the the same on mine now (Autarky & Ratio Values)

Do you have the autarky attribute defined in your card configuration?

I've released v1.7.9 that improves logic checks for the display of autarky and ratio data. Please update and let me know if it resolves the problem.

I've updated to v1.7.9 now and seems to be resolved. Yes it is also defined.

May have missed it but exactly what is this autarky calculation supposed to represent?

v1.8.0 Updates
  • Add support for customising essential icons when there are two additional essential loads. See the optional load1_icon: and load2_icon: attributes under the load card configuration. Options are boiler, aircon, pump If you need other icons please open a request on GitHub.
  • Logic fixes

Autarky is the percentage of self sufficiency through Home Production. Ratio is the percentage of produced electricity used by the home.
  • Autarky in Percent = Home Production / Home Consumption
  • Ratio in Percent = Home Consumption / Home Production

v1.8.1
Updates

  • Add new oven icon for essential loads
  • Essential icons can be displayed on the lite card

Some nice updates. Finally figured out how to use mdi icons for images :D

v1.8.2
Updates

  • You can now use any mdi icon to customise card images. Use either the built in presets i.e. oven, aircon etc. or specify the icon you want to use i.e. load1_icon: mdi:pool
  • Adds <ha-card> element for card mod
  • Removes charger icon preset. Use mdi:ev-station instead

Great job! Developer Extraordinaire!

I don't know how much time you spend behind this, but thank you. If you have a' buy me coffee' or snapscan link, share it , and I will share some Rands with you.

It's really useful to my life just like @wernerhp ESP integration.

I just realised I should support the ESP team too. Off I go.

Just a heads up that the mdi icons dont render in the correct positions on Safari. It seems to be a known bug. You can use the icon presets as a workaround.

Thanks for the support Buymecoffee :coffee::D

v1.8.3
Updates

Apply fixed positions for mdi icons.

NOTE: There is a known issue with the positioning and scaling of mdi icons in Safari. Please use the built in presets instead

v1.8.4
Updates

New card attribute `card_height:` that lets you set the height of the card when panel_mode is set to no. Can be used to fine tune dashboard layouts. Specify height in pixels i.e 450px. The default card height is 396px

Fixes
Remove additional card objects when show_solar is set to no

Good morning my battery flow seemingly is unable to distinguish between drawing power and charging. It always indicates drawing power with the little dot moving away yet the usage percentage seems to work correctly.

What am I missing? Thanks

I redid @Slips card since my original. It seems to have got more messed up. Will need to start again. The PV incoming moves at speed regardless of what I configure. Next week's job

V1.8.6 is out. Please note the breaking change. Some of the entities have been renamed.
