Sunsynk + Home Assistant

I've got most of my card working, however struggling with the non-essential side of things. I can't seem to get a load.

Is your CT coil connected correctly?
Yes it is, reads as positive on the inverter.

Also non-essential loads drop as soon as mains drop. So it is working

Maybe I should reprhase, I understand that I can't pickup the sensors in the yaml file right? Or do I need to code those sensors in to the yaml file to pick up the entities?

So in that case, do you have any sort of individual power monitoring for all, or any, of your non-essential devices? Geyser and oven, in your case.

I do not. Straight from DB to inverter.

Guess I will need to get a CBI astute to monitor them separately.

Correct, those non-essential devices in the card need a power sensor in the yaml to be able to display a value.

Please advice as to what is the best inverter, Lithium ion battery and solar panels
5KVa inverter and battery.

Since you're posting on Sunsynk thread, the answer is Sunsynk/Deye. Although, it's a subjective question and you're bound to get different answers depending on where you look. My vote is that Sunsynk/Deye is best value for money on the market.

Battery wise I'd recommend you stick to an well established brand that isn't only available in South Africa - brands such as Pylontech. BYD, BSL, FreedomWon, Shoto etc.

As for solar panels, any tier 1 producer will be quality.

v2.7.0

Exciting New Features

- feat: adds optional auto scaling of power values for each of the card sections i.e. battery, solar, grid , load and inverter. When `auto_scale: true` power values greater than 999W will be displayed as kW i.e. 4,32kW. The number of decimal places is set to `2` by default but can be adjusted globally using the card `decimal_places:` attribute

**Full Changelog**: v2.6.1...v2.7.0

Do you have a link to the integration you are using?

You might want to give this a watch

I’m using the Sunsynk Integration without ESPHome as I don’t have the little dongle that plugs directly into the inverters ModBus.

Probably this one

Probably this one

That’s the one.

There are some limitations though as I figured out as I went along so might be worthwhile to get the ESP connector.

For example:
1)Like you can’t control SOC, or I haven’t figured it out yet.
2) You can’t see the draw from your nonessentials
3) and the obvious one is the 60 sec delay which is the dongle delay as it syncs to the cloud.

Any tips to solve these would be great.
