Hi guys so I have bit of and issue my setup is as follows

2x sunsynk 5kw inverters in parallel
2x 4.8kw pylontech batteries
8x 550w Canadian solar panels

The issue from today is that the main master inverter screen and lights are dead like nothing from the inverter , the power light underneath is on

The house is still powered and working as it should but the main inverter interface is off

I can't login online as my dongle to connect to the web stopped working when they moved from one region to the other while my slave is still online if I login to sunsynk online, I was meaning to get this looked into but haven't had the time

Does any one have any idea about this my installer is out of town and can only come on Wednesday

any help would be appreciated

Yes I've tried to power it off wait 5 min and turn it on again but the screen and lights flashed and went blank , I think it must be faulty

Did you power all power sources off (battery, solar and Eskom) and did you try powering just the master back on on it's own with only DC supply?

Next move, if you don't come right, is to set the slave up as master and be prepared for limited current use. I have my geysers on a changeover switch for just in case so I can put them on non-essentials for a situation like this. Try contact your installer or follow the manual to set it up as master. On the plus side, you have some redundancy with the slave unit while the master is off for repairs to the supplier. Just document every change you make when you configure master -> slave.

When powering off, do a complete shut down of all power sources for at least 10 - 15 minutes. In my experience, the caps in the Sunsynk keep the basics going for ages after switching off the battery.

can also try and make a change in the blind,

ie navigate the menu based on slave and see if the change affects behaviour if it does it could simply be a dead lcd/backlight

kinda like when a tv's backlight pops the lcd part still behaves as it should, but without the backlight you just don't see it working, as what we see is just the display blocking certain parts of the spectrum changing what we see

Thanks for the input I tried to do a long power off then on again like 30 mins the screen and leds still just comes on for maybe a second then off again

I also tried to used the screen with it off but no progress

I did some googling its a similar issue to this as my dongle is also not working I guess I have to wait for the installer

seems to be the screen module thats faulty according to this thread

Did you resolve your issue? Mine is doing the same as of this morning

Interesting i had very same issue on one of my Deyes recently. Worked pefectly normal except dead screen. Had to take it for repair to replace some boaed(s). Link to Solar Assistant was also gone.

Yeh. Solar assistant was gone, I wouldn't have known otherwise, I have an automation that messages me when it looses connection to the inverter or batteries.

It was removed last week, they're busy reinstalling at the moment.

Still waiting to hear if it was repaired under warranty.

Hope this helps, but my sunsynk did the same, figured out it was due to cold temp (the display doesnt seem to like it). Reset would switch the onboard display on again.

Forgot to update, the board was replaced. R4200 for the privilege due to my original installer shutting down and having to get a 3rd party to do the work.
