Hi guys,

is anybody else on afrihost having really sick latency the last couple of days ? like 2500ms or so im not saying its definatly afrihost but a couple of my saffa mates arent having these problems ?

yeah getting 200 more ms then usual using afrihost tonight. I would leave the house but its ****ing cold here :((((

On afrihost and yup lag suxes normaly have around 200-250ms with lowerping now got 1000ms+

this back from afrihost support

Thank you for the email. :)

We are currently investigating reports of slow international connectivity and high latency. What we know thus far is that the problem seems not to be with the Afrihost or IS network.

Thank you for your support. :)

Have a great day & please feel free to let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Warm regards.

Edward

hmmmm was nowhere above 350ms just now

now its up to 600ms wtf afrihost

yea same here this morning it was ok now its going crazy again

All the ISPs seem to suffer from a differential in the performance experienced by their users. Strange. My AH 384 is flying (well as fast as 384 is going to go).

Good latency as well.

Horrible latency over the weekend from both Afrihost and Axxess Lite, both came in at 1200ms+

The latency seems to be all over the place this weekend. Saturday I had mostly over 1000ms, although it was around 500ms for some time in the afternoon. On Sunday it was high during the morning, but after around 11 it went down to normal and stayed that way for the rest of the day. This is with an Openweb account.

I've been getting this as well, resetting my router ( I use a PPPoE dial in from my pc, so it's not just reconnecting ) seemed to help

Might be something to do with the line needing a resync.

Worked twice for me, though the problem behind the high latency doesn't seem to be fixing itself.

There is definitely a problem with the SA internet, what it is specifically no-one knows it seems

i hate the fact that we have to find out about connectivity issues when there should be a central location/website (ehhheem Telkom!!) giving us ALL perfromance/connectivity updates with ETA's if any.
Telkom sure know how to take our money but are ****ing useless at giving us some service...****ers!!

well had 350-400ms most of today 4pm 600+ ms wtf is going on can someone from afrihost or anywhere pls tell us whats going on here a friend of mine in india is saying they having the same problem and she was saying that seacom is still playing up
