Super bad latency with afrihost

Also using Afrhost and the latency for the last while has been shocking. Wrote to them today and they responded saying that IS has told them their is a problem with local and international latencties and it is being worked on and will soon be fixed. Here's hoping.

Switched from afrihost last night at 2k latency to Webafrica and got 355.
 
It really sucks that this is happening now. For a very long time I have had 0 latency problems and its costing me money as in having to get unshaped account from another ISP to be able to play. Really hope this gets fixed..But I fear that maybe the influx of uncapped accounts are starting to show an effect maybe?
 
i was just on the seacom site, no reported issues there? Is there a way to find out what is wrong?

Shocking that we all waited for Seacom and now its ****ing us over....and the best part? My telkom account is the most stable of them all. Not the best pings but with proxy it runs on 340ms solid...lol
 
well another day with bad latency after hrs all day today latency was nowhere above 400 now its sitting in the range of 800+

This is happening to me too, was SUPER before 5pm, then SHAIT CITY! 1000ms +
 
anyone know what the latency is like over at mweb i got a 512k line
 
I dont play WoW anymore, but I'm in the SC2 beta and using an awesome app called battleping to lower my latencies (its free atm cos its in open beta) - www.battleping.com - for those interested (it supports wow I think).

Anyways, before all this SEACOM nonsense I was getting a fairly consistant 200-250ms when pinging the german\netherlands battleping servers (I use it for SC2 it was AMAZING to play with such good speeds).

But now its constantly sitting at 400 and 1300 at random times of the week, after hours, during the day, it doesnt matter - its totally effed. I'm on Afrihost 4mb uncapped. I've emailed them, sending them traceroute reports and everything and they are as unhelpful as can be, suggesting awesome technical support like "reset your router".

Honestly i'm getting so fed up.

Im on a 4mb line, if you want to test get a 1GB WA prepaid account its R99 but well worth it imo :D
 
anyone got bad latency tonight i am on 1k+ after hours during today it was fine
 
Yeah, it just went through the roof...I logged out for about half an hour and now I'm stuck on the "retrieving character list" screen.
 
got 280ms but getting alot of lag spikes

Im getting frustrated as hell with this crap!!!

priest is not getting those facking casts off here and ther due to massive lag spikes
