Super bad latency with afrihost

I have stopped using afrihost i couldnt handle the latency anymore i would pay more any day for a decent connection
 
yup end of the month iam going to switch Isp..... any suggestions?
 
Well im also going to change at the end of the month if they do not fix this :S 1k latency at times is just not good enough, afrihost has given me good latency in the past so im hoping they pull through. If not im personally going to give the titan webafrica account a chance, Webafrica has stable latency and good pricing it looks like the 15gb one for R199 is good enough for me so i would give that a try if thats in your needs. As i said loyal afrihost guy here but this is unacceptable for my needs..
 
if you got Web africa money then sure i will be canceling my afrihost account as well at the end of this month
 
The WA Titan Data only accounts are not available anymore, sold out as far as I am aware. You have to go with Titan complete now which means you need to move your line to them, just keep that in mind out. Still a very good choice.
 
Might be a little premature but since 8pm last night my latency on afrihost is bk to normal getting 250 -300ms :) Hope it stays like that
 
hows the latency on it? and is it shaped or de we get unshaped at nigh tlike afrihost?

Yea same here, Going to cancel afrihost tomorrow
 
Seems like its not just afrihost. I'm getting terrible lag on all shaped packages (gconnect, axxess semi-shaped, axxess shaped, but when I switched to unshaped, everything is fine.
 
Its not just Afrihost. In our ICC 25raid earlier, for the first hour of the raid I was sitting on 2.5 - 3k lag, kept dc'ing. In the last two weeks or so since they repaired Seacom, it just hasn't been the same, constant 700ms, before that was 250-300 every day :(

This is on Axxess unshaped. Like other users have mentioned, something is broke with seacom.

and as usual you get nowhere when you phone them and ask what the heck is going on :(
 
Must be seacom as i raided last night 25man with my telkom shaped account with no problems at all, Latency was around 350ms the hole night.

Yea i used to get a constant 200 -300ms on afrihost, now iam lucky if its under 600ms and thats using lowerping
 
I don't think it is seacom, IS already admitted they running out of BW for their ADSL subscribers. Thus we know that is the issue.

There any ETA on when they expect to fix that?

Anway tonight was much better 300 - 350ms constant through ICC. Big improvement from the 700+ ms I've been experiencing over the last few weeks.
 
Not sure, when I read it about week or 2 ago they said 6 weeks. Maybe they incrementing their BW in separate stages, who knows.
