Well, the opposite is now true. Glad for my picks but sad for the Cheetahs. Three tries to the highlanders in the last 5 minutes. NEVER rule out a NZ team. :crying:

Heart wrenching loss for Cheetahs. But you have to play until the final whistle blows.

Cheetahs blew it big time, must be very difficult for all the Cheetah supporters, hard pill to swallow to lose like that

Not one of those tries should have been allowed. First try from a scrum penalty where the Highlanders started scrumming before the ball went it, and so it continued. I'm not a Cheetah supporter but this last 5 mins were farcical. Three horrible misses by the ref in the last 5 minutes.

Can't argue with you there. Definitely thought the Highlanders pushed early. But the two follow up tries were just classic NZ 'we won't lose this' mentality.

Also the high tackle. Ref had no problem until he saw it on the big screen, turned it into a yellow card and penalty. Then miss penalty, forward pass another forward pass, Farsical. Why did he not review any of those possible forward passes?

I didn't see any of that, tbh. Neither did any of the commentators or other players it seems. Hanyani Shimangi is usually very good at spotting scrumming infringements.

As per my earlier comments, I thought the reffing was very bad but didn't see anything wrong with those tries.

Ref was a joke if you ask me, inconsistent most of the game. Looked like an upset, but these NZ teams have a never give up attitude.

I don't think a Cape Crusader would see any of those.

Uh huh.

Totally coincidence that you didn't see the high tackle on Naholo or them going off their feet at the breakdown, or the very obvious Cheetahs forward pass that he ignored.

As I said, the officiating was bad.

Don't get sour now from that loss. Cheetahs played a very good game, it's just that they could not hold it out at the end. That is where experience comes into it.

Ref and gang was poor to both sides throughout the game. There are some chops who need the boot and should not even officiate schools rugby .... too many good games ruined.

Mafi playing with the strength of 10 men at the moment. Rest of the Rebels pack nowhere.
